"(...) the chemistry between these two is hot as F**k?? Well, it is! These authors know how to write deliciously deviant sex that will make your toes curl! " - Jaime, Alpha Book Club
"(...) Knight was the protector which Elliot desperately needed. They both enjoyed the same things and never grew tired of each other's company and with all that happened in the story they had a very strong and impenetrable connection." - Jaymie, Bayou Book Junkie
"(...) it was very intense, the sex between Elliot and Knight was literally scorching but also sweet and romantic, even though Knight would probably stab me with the thought, but he is a sweetheart and so loving towards Elliot. " - MM Book Escape
"The writing is brilliant, dynamic, coherent and well built. I love how K.A Merikan put 2 characters wanting things completely different from each other and ended up to be exactly what they really need. I couldn't put this book down until I've finished it (sleeping is sooo overrated)." - Ivy Noha, OptimuMM
Come in reading this book with an open mind and prepare yourselves for an amazing ride! Two men who fall in love. My dark Night is the second book of the series of kings of hell so if you have not read the first book then stay and listen to this review because maybe it might encourage you to read the first but This is NOTHNIG like the first book, KA Merikan really delved deep into the psycho crazy of the brain. This is the wonderful story of Knight (Travis) and Elliot. We already know crazy/ loyal / honest Knight from the previous book and let me tell you, in this book, it really showed us who he really is. He is extremely kind and gentle to the weak. I honestly loved him so much in the book, even if he made me cringe at how much he is willing to get beat over someone he truly cares about. Then there comes Elliot………….. WOW, talk about, a broken person. He, … I mean he seriously didn’t love himself, he really had no one to ever show him what love truly is until he met Knight. He is the one character that grew the most as a person. I hated him in the beginning but then at the end I loved him. KA Merikan has a way of showing that Yeah Elliot is a horrible person in the beginning but in the same time they squeeze in sentences that crushed my heart! This is a paranormal/romance book. And it seriously creeps me the hell out! I went in blind reading the first book and I nearly dropped my phone when I realized that it dealt with *spoiler *demons. This is usually not my cup of tea but like I said, KA Merikans are geniuses when it comes to making stories that genuinely creeps into your skin and then it just sinks in and stays with you for days. This is why I love KA Merikan, they are not afraid to touch on subjects that are virtually taboo. And you can tell that they take their time to express everything clearly, there is no if, or buts. They just say it how it is and they make sure to show us why and how they fall in love. Pros: growth in characters (seriously I clapped my hands when Elliot walked away from that relationship, I was like damn about time bitch!!) Never bored Smooth writing Clear understanding and stood by characters personality (Knight struggling to be in a relationship, with a man and in a monogamous relationship!) Con: *spoiler* my only complain of this book, is that I’m starting to feel that evil is always winning. There is a scene in the book whereas exorcism took place. Granted they did mention that he was not trained to be exorcist but damn, like…. Nothing, nothing can help, the only option was to once again make a deal with the demon *end of spoiler*. I like to read happy things, and I will read the next book but if there is like no end to them being trapped. I might stop reading the series. As much as it breaks my heart to say this but sometimes they only focus on only ugly and yes people can solve things on their own but I truly believe that if there is evil, there is also good. But that is why I love these authors because they don’t write for us, the characters take them and us on a ride. So book 3 here I come! I’m ready for you!
I thought "Laurent and the Beast," the first book of the Kings of Hell MC was amazing, but this book is even better!! I believe this is the longest book by this author, but I gobbled it up so fast because I couldn't put it down. It was so good! This is the story of Knight and Elliott. Knight is the VP of the Kings of Hell MC, and Elliott, who is also The Count. The Count has a blog that devoted to the serial killer, William Fane, who is tied to the Kings of Hell clubhouse/asylum/haunted mansion. Knight is an avid genealogist, which is unusual for a big, bad, sexy biker. He has always been proud of his Mercier ancestry, enough to get his body covered in tattoos with names, dates, and even a battle scene. Knight has a big grudge against The Count because of his inaccurate stories and his idolizing of Fane. It doesn't seem a likely match between these two. BUT, the author is able to make it work beautifully. It isn't all love and roses, however. If you don't like blood and gore with your biker romance, you won't like this book. There are some really bloody and gory scenes. What else would you expect from a story of the Kings of Hell MC club, which includes a devil and several ghosts? I didn't like Elliott at the beginning of the book, but I came to love him by the end of the book. It was amazing how the authors developed these characters and the changes that come about in Knight and Elliott. Of course there is a HEA and I can't wait to read the next book in the series, "On Your Knees Prospect." This book can be read as a standalone, but you should read "Laurent and the Beast" first to get a better idea of the back story. There are some mysteries that are partially revealed in this book that make you want to keep reading to discover more.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This has an absolutely amazing storyline continuing from a book I didn't know could get any better. This is everything I was hoping for and more besides!
The only thing I can't get over is that Elliot isn't haunted if he just leaves the one building, and Knight makes a shady pact to save Elliot from this haunting... is it really so bad for Elliot to have a place nearby? Why not have the two of them move out of the club, even if means Knight has to go to the club every day as he would for work or something?
It just gets to me that someone would make a lifelong pact when a reasonable solution is right there, or without at least doing some more research into this...
But then again, that is exactly what keeps the storyline going and will have me curious what this gargoyle plans to do when he expands his capacity...
Also I am curious about the role of several of the other ghosts... and Jake, what's up with him? I feel like he's probably met the gargoyle demon already.
Another great story in the Kings of Hell MC universe! I liked getting to know more about Knight in this one. Other than Beast and Laurent, he was my favorite character in the first book.
The Count, aka Elliott, is definitely an interesting character... and maybe a bit delusional with how much he adores William Fane. As I read, I was just waiting for him to see the truth about William Fane, so I could watch his perfect fantasy about the man shatter into a million pieces.
The interactions between Knight and Elliott had there ups and downs, and would have had less road blocks if they just sat down and had an adult conversation with each other.
I am happy with the way the book ended though, and am eager to read the next one and learn more about the Prospect Jake.
