4.7 4.7 out of 5 stars 34 ratings

The Secret Brotherhood--men of majesty. Extraordinary men. Regal men. Men who know the hidden powers of magic and the supernatural. Universally admired, even loved, they rule the masses through pageantry and illusion.

In this explosive new book, bestselling author Texe Marrs unravels the whole fantastic story of the men who have been called the Illuminati, the Wise Men, the Hierarchy, the World Mind, or simply The Order. He uncovers their strange and unexpected worship of a mysterious "god" whose name they conceal. And he exposes the hidden depths of what they call their Great Work: "The illumination of mankind by a thousand points of light."

The Secret Brotherhood--its frightening conspiratorial network includes the mysterious Bilderberger Group, the notorious Skull & Bones Society, the clandestine Black Lodges of Freemasonry, and the secretive Knights of Malta. Its diabolical influence reaches into the corridors of power at the White House, the CIA, the Federal Reserve, and even the Vatican.

The Secret Brotherhood--men of wealth and position. They have the power to change your life dramatically--and fast. The stakes are high--your job, your bank account, your family. And if you try to fight back, they might just take your life.

I keep giving this book away and lose my copy. I ordered another for myself this time.
Sometimes I really believe this goes on behind the scenes. This book is rarely available in a public library. Makes me wonder what they don't want us to read about in this book. I read this book for the first time in the latter 20th century and still believe there may be inklings of this going on behind the scenes in the 21st century. This was my first Texe Marrs read and it is a good one to begin with.

I bought this book back in 1992, but when I began reading it, it seemed to me to simply be part of the on-going media attack on George H. W. Bush which was raging at that time. So, I put it aside, where it lay unread for the next twenty-one years. Then, about a month or so ago, I rediscovered it and decided to read it. I soon found that it was the kind of book which I had been hoping to find for almost a decade. True, George H. W. Bush was prominent in the book --- always in a negative way --- but looking back on it from the vantage point of 2013 I'm sure that was only because he was President at the time the book was written and, as a result, was the most visible manifestation of the problems facing the American people at that time.

Why was I hoping to find a book such as this? It was mostly Bill Clinton's fault or, rather, the fault of the American electorate. For, when Clinton was elected president in 1992 I became so concerned for my country that I set about trying to determine what had gone so wrong that such a person could be elected to any public office, let alone the presidency of the United States. I began reading everything I could find which might shed some light on the subject. In the process, I learned a lot about a wide-range of disparate factions, groups, and organizations which although seemingly unrelated, all appeared to be leading us in the same direction: toward national bankruptcy, the destruction of our Democratic Republic, and possibly the loss of our national sovereignty.

Among them were: Liberals, Progressives, Socialists, radical activists, the United Nations, the Federal Reserve, Fannie Mae, Freddy Mac, academic elitists, international bankers, the mainstream media, the Bilderberg Group, Environmentalists, government unions, judicial activists, the NEA, members of the Skull and Bones Society (the Bush connection), ACORN, the Trilateral Commission, the Illuminati, Freemasons, and corrupt politicians and bureaucrats, just to name a few.

In reading about these entities: I couldn't help but wonder if they were each simply working separately toward their own distinct goals which just happened to be furthering the cause of Socialism, or if there was some more sinister group operating behind the scenes at a higher level.

This book goes a long way toward answering that question, at least in part. Generally speaking, most of these varied factions, or groups, appear to be operating independently, but with socialist tendencies. Some, however, appear to be more closely interrelated. This book's author tells us a lot about these more structured groups and also identifies `some,' but not all, of those who are most likely providing the impetus behind the drive to abandon our Constitution, our Democratic Republic, and Christianity --- supplanting them with a one-world socialist government.

If I had read this book back in 1992, I wouldn't even have heard of some of these groups and likely wouldn't have believed any of this. But in 2013 this is a frightening read. For: by clearly identifying the Socialist's goals in 1992, the author indirectly predicted America's future. And, if you've been paying any attention for the past 21 years, you can surely see just how far we've come in meeting their objectives --- and you may-well be able to see where we're headed as a people. God forbid.
