The third book of the Divine War trilogy by Magus Tor brings the Maicee and his compatriots to a satisfying end. While the plot is still as strong as the previous two books, it is the character Maicee that develops the most. From a nervous medical school graduate to the Imperial Surgeon chosen to tend to the dying Emperor, Maicee proves his wisdom, diplomacy, and, when questionable, trustworthiness. Moses, the Emperor, is driven to fulfill his mandate, that is, to bring the people of Archeonis back to the home planet of Earth they do not remember. Earth, however, is not as hospitable. Can the Emperor and the Rebels who do not want to relocate the entire Archeonis population work out an understanding in time? I have enjoyed this entire series and have already started recommending it to more of my friends who enjoy this genre.
This is the third book in the Divine War series and from the story line it appears to be the last. Certainly the story seems to be complete, and an excellent one it was. The various characters introduced in New Dawn and High Noon are still with us and just as well described: all loose ends are tied up satisfactirily. It’s a series I cannot recommend too highly. Enjoy!
