Imprisoned for 1,000 years, it is now free to wreak a terrifying vengeance. Determined to undo the harm they have caused, Jennifer and her friends follow it into corridors connecting countless worlds and times, and from there, into a gentle world of trees and mountains, sunlight and springs. They are all that stands between a peaceful people and a destroyer of worlds. Jennifer and her friends are courageous, creative and loyal. But can that be enough against a power so dark, and so full of reckless hate? Evil is real. So are innocence and courage. Light stands against darkness in this battle for life.
The last paragraph says it all. You travel in time and place, cross roads, follow a line through secret doors, and without a moral compass you may land in trouble also due to evil intervention, but it his you who has to make the responsible choices, be strong, fearless, compassionate within the lines of your limitations.
This story is ideally written for growing youth to enjoy the fantasy adventure and learn from mistakes one could make in a dark environment with dark powers and dark turnings.
"Finding Clare is only one of your tasks. The man, the creature, who took her, Seggorak, is powerful and dangerous, but he himself is a slave, owned by another. That one you will not find on this journey. But his methods are the same in every place – deceit, dissension, despair. You must counter these with their opposites – truthfulness, unity and hope.”
Very well written and wholly recommendable.

This is a YA Fantasy story so when you think about a variety of planets you can picture how different worlds might appear. Some with strange creatures and powers while other worlds are just a place of pure beauty where everything is picturesque and perfect. This book is the start of a series much like Divergence only lighter so you can get to know Jennifer and the gang before their next adventure. Enjoyable and easy to read.
What I especially loved about this book was the writing. It was easy and comfortable to read, nothing too heavy when it comes to plot and character descriptions. I loved that it had a great opening, making me feel interested in going on and finding out what will happen to the main character Jennifer Jones and her friends.
The book was full of adventure and I enjoyed it a lot. What I also loved was the characters’ dynamic traits. Their courage, determination, and their will are so remarkable that I just want them to be safe all the time. It may take a little while to get into the book’s most interesting parts because the first part of the book mainly talked about the basics of the characters, but the succeeding chapters will surely wow you because of the thrilling things that happened. All in all, I loved this book. It’s one that I would never hesitate to recommend to readers of all ages!
Some roads should not be crossed.
Some mistakes cannot be undone ...
And sometimes, there is no turning back.
Sorry, that quote resonates with me so much I have to post it here.
A group of friends unleashes an ancient evil whose power could destroy the whole world and they now have to find a way to stop it. Jennifer is a normal young girl living her life with no exceptional thing happening in her life, until that fateful event. But the journey is just starting and we, along Jennifer are going on a trip where new worlds are discovered and for the sake of their world, they must save it.
It’s not the most original tale in recent times, but the presentation is incredible, is a nice mix of fantasy elements we all know and love, from series like Harry Potter, Narnia to The Lord of The Rings and A Song of Ice and Fire, there is a lot to enjoy here, and it holds a really refreshing feeling this genre always needs. Once again evil vs good relies on the courage and strength of the young, I love it.
Right in the YA genre the author follows the formula for success, proven with other books: different worlds exist, with different portals and our group of heroes accidentally unleash some mysterious evil and will have to work together to overcome and make the good triumph (the idea of good vs evil is very much present). There are a few hints along the book of how some storylines and characters may grow on the following books and I’m curious to see if I got them correctly.
The book is well written and the story is well paced. To me, it was like Harry Potter goes to Narnia. If you’re into this kind of YA fantasy novels this book will be a sure hit.
