I'm actually not a fan of short stories per se, but this is a great read for on the bus, or waiting in the doctor's office. I loved reading it on my phone. It's a self-contained story that hints at more to come.
Hoping for a sequel, or full length novel down the pipe.
I found this a really enjoyable and satisfyingly spicy read. Most important was that Dark War illustrates how women have the power to create or destroy the men around them on an emotional level. I will certainly be looking for more of Amor's distinctive voice and style of creating a romance. I want to read Henry & Isolde's story.
Meg does a masterful job of showing us the emotional connection between the three characters. While I'm not a fan of M/F/M sex, this story is one I would read again. And again. And again. While the sex is there, it takes a back seat to the real climax of the story - Charlie finally realizing Izzy and Henry loved him the same way he did them.
On another note, I'm not sure how the other reviewer was confused. I had no problem figuring out who was speaking. It was very clearly written - something that is often difficult to do in the first person present tense. Meg wrote a beauty here. I tried looking for more from her, but this is all that came up. If anyone knows of anything else she has published, please let me know. It was a fantastic read while waiting for my oil to get changed. I give it an enthusiastic five orgasms out of five!
Dark War is a sensual and romantic piece of literature that demonstrates how it's possible for three people to be totally in love with each other. A love so profound and deep rooted over many years. It describes the pureness of that love, so pure it will melt the heart of any reader.
The most bizarre thing is the emotion and the expression of this love was not revealed over a candle lit dinner in the warm back glow of a romantic restaurant, piping music to seduce the senses. No, this author skilfully portrayed how it’s still possible to feel that tingle in your belly from reading about the most seediest of backdrop scenery, during a thunderstorm, when the love it true.
The main characters are Henry and Izzy, a married couple and their friend Charlie. Charlie is a troubled soul, filled with self-deprecation bent on self-destruction, believing he is not worthy to be loved by anyone. It takes him to a dark place in the recesses of his mind, and his body soon follows. The couple are on a mission to save Charlie from himself.
This story filled me with a number of emotions. I went from empathetic sadness to deep joy. This erotic mind altering piece of fine writing moved this reader in a good way. A wonderful cosy bedtime read, I would definitely recommend. Amor means love and this author certainly has a name befitting this amazing love story. I’m giving Dark War 5 stars.
