This was a great story. It was a enemies-to-lovers story and very well done. Fox and Bjorn are both likeable characters and it was hard to see them on opposite sides and wonder how they manage to get their HEA in the end. And while they're figuring out their "relationship" there's a lot going on, most of it overlaps with the events in the next book, The Darkest King. Overall, this was pretty typical of the rest of the books in the series...characters that are very likable in a great story that's majorly engaging (I only stopped reading this to sleep and then I was right back to reading it). I'd definitely recommend the series but the books might be a bit confusing as standalones. :D
Note - I listened to the audio version of this story and as normal, the narrator did a great job.

Had been intentionally waiting to read this bad boy closer to when The Darkest King was released.

But let me tell you it wasn’t easy. I preordered so this has been sitting on my Kindle like a temptress and it did not disappoint. I absolutely adored Fox. She was strong and brave but also kind and vulnerable. Bjorn, I mostly wanted to strangle but eventually decided he was perfect for my Fox. This is a novella set in the Lords of the Underworld series but you can read it as a stand-alone. There is lots of action and the only time I set the book down was after an especially steamy scene when I needed to stop and take a quick trip to pound town with my husband.

Don’t mess with Fox. Bjorn has learned his lesson. These two together are too cute. They def don’t see eye to eye. But they make it work. There is a lot of uncertainty but when you carry around the demon of Distrust it does not help one bit. Oh don’t forget Bjorn’s crazy “wife”. So many obstacles to overcome and so little time. Remember there is a war going on. I def loved the chemistry between these two. Oh did I mention there are cameos from William. If that those not get you excited I don’t even know why you are reading this series. Will I re-read? Most Definitely. Do I recommend? Darn right I do.

Fox has had a long, long life full of hardship and loneliness. The only person she trusts is Galen, maybe Legion. So when an epic mistake on her part leads to her capture and imprisonment by Bjorn the Sent One, she finds herself baffled by her attraction to him. From the very first moment she met him her attraction has been hard to ignore. And when they give in to it all bets are off. Steamy and exciting this is another epic love story of opposites finding their soul mates in the unlikeliest of places, learning to trust and giving oneself to another without fear. I loved every minute of Fox and Bjorn and William and Sunny cannot come soon enough!

This book is absolutely amazing and brilliant and all the things you're hoping for. It brings you right back to the Angels of the Dark world with our favorite characters while being absorbed into the LOTU storyline. Like, my mind is blown and I couldn't have hoped for a better story. Seriously. Feels like old school LOTU and I love it.
Gena managed to write the perfect novella, the pacing is just right, Fox and Bjorn work great together and the way they meet is priceless, one of my favorite thing ever. I loved the story and how everything got together with the Lords, and how Gena is preparing us for William's book. Speaking of William, we also get to see him in this book and his heroine too! I swear to god, I lost my mind and my heart stopped beating for a few seconds.

Gah! No idea where to start! You executed enough detail to dangle the next book over my head. The intensity is raw, the humor spot on. (Laugh too hard) and the emotions just perfect! Wish there was more stars to give you but internet chose a measly 5. Ugh. Gena, spectacular job! Look forward to more! If you haven't read the series. Read it! Your life will never be the same....in a good way!

Overall I felt thus was one of the better novellas I read from Showalter, but I still prefer the novels because these dont have enough time for character or story development. Though this was an enjoyable read all the same and I look forward to William's story next.

I love the Lords of the Underworld series and I loved the trilogy about the Sent Ones, so yes, I had to read this novella too.
It's a typical Gena Showalter book, so fans won't be disappointed. I was a little bit confused about some things - not having read William's story yet, which happens to be #15, he appears to be all happy-happy-joy-joy with a female here, who seems to be his all or whatever? Anyway, good addition, there was definitely more to Bjorn and Fox than one initially thought.
P.S. if the female that was with William is truly *his*, I don't know how I feel about it because I really didn't like her. Eh.
3.5 - 4 stars.

I don't always buy novellas in a series the I am reading but in Gena's case I make an exception. Never anything missing you always get a full story and I've never got bored of The Lords of the Underworld and that's not true of many series out there. Buy it you will not be disappointed.

not a great fan of Novella's they're expensive for number of pages. this is longer than most books from many authors, a gripping read, and both lead characters are ones I warmed to, and wanted to work it out.
I love the whole series, and this is a very fitting part of it, if you like the series you will love this

What can I say? Absolutely loved it! Bloody brilliant!
Can't wait for the last one in the tortured 'Sent Ones' trio Xerxes' story to unfold. Can't imagine how difficult that one is going to be to write but totally looking forward to reading it!
Unreservedly recommend!!!!!!!
