Review

"This book was instantly compelling, utterly intriguing, chock full of absolutely incredible characters, and had plenty of wit and sexiness to round out the dark goodness... I'm reveling in the sheer genius of this fresh new world, and the masterfully spun tale from the mind of one of the best dark fantasy romance storytellers around." - LITERAL ADDICTION

"This book was a romantic suspense thriller with a dash of paranormal romance. I loved both main characters for their humor and wit in the face of challenges and adversity. I laughed a lot reading this book ... To the point I really got sick of answering what was so funny :D" - Nocturnus

"This story really took me by surprise but WOW, I absolutely loved everything about this story line. The dream realm and the story behind it isn't like anything i have had the pleasure to read. Erin has a new fan in me and I cannot wait to see what will happen next." - A1pha

I would actually give this 4 stars, except for the fact that it just cuts off. There is no climax to the story, nor a proper ending. The art of the story is lost with all the self publishing going on, and this book is a prime example of that.

That being said, I was intrigued by the idea and concept of the story. It is original, even if the character development wasn't quite what it could have been. The main character, Jordan, changes her personality without any real reason. The main male character, Malcolm, had a bit of a reason to change, and he seems to be more believable than Jordan. Right when the story was getting good, the book ended. If you cannot keep a reader interested enough to buy your next book without a cliffhanger ending, perhaps you should spend more time on developing your characters.

I will not be buying the next book any time soon. An author who attempts to force me into purchasing more books because they did not finish the story is lazy, and not worth my money.

This book took me a little by surprise. I knew it was about being able to lucid dream and join other people in your dreams but I was surprised by the backstory of the dreaming. The book had just enough detail to make the world interesting and believable and not to much to get bogged down in details as some first books in a series have a tendency to do. I enjoyed the characters and of course there was just enough sexiness and romance. I was instantly intrigued and hooked from the first chapter and finished this book in one setting. The only downside is the book left a bit of a cliffhanger - had enough of a conclusion that I'm still giving it 5 stars but I can't wait for the next book to find out what happens! I highly recommend reading this book.

Bait and switch again! Great begining and plot - but this is not the full book! By the end of the free book there's so many unresolved plot lines that you can hardly say that there's been an ending. Otherwise: interesting, original topic; nice character development; good story pacing.... but incomplete. I really can't get a good feel if this is a series worth investing myself into with what little I've been allowed to read.

This series must be read in order. This is the first book.

At first I didn't understand what was going on... Much like Jordan I did not know what to make of the phenomenon of the Revelers but I was nonetheless sucked into the story from the very beginning! The author made me feel Jordan's apprehension and unease before I even knew what the wonder drug actually was. That is awesome writing for sure.

Rook on the other hand I could not bring myself to distrust even when he distrusted himself lol. I could just see beyond his petty recriminations somehow to the fact that as long as you are on his side you are safe. He thinks he is a villain but it is just not the case. I really love him as a character!

This book was a romantic suspense thriller with a dash of paranormal romance. I loved both main characters for their humor and wit in the face of challenges and adversity. I laughed a lot reading this book ... To the point I really got sick of answering what was so funny :D I am totally going to go start reading the next book Lay Me Down: Reveler Series 2 right now!

I enjoyed reading this book and especially the attraction between the two main characters. It ends, like a lot of these free books, on a cliff hanger, so you are encouraged to buy the next in the series. But this book is also a decent read on its own with an intriguing sci fi idea of a virtual dreamworld that seems almost as good as drugs, but like drugs, also has it's dark side (literally). Well written.

Malcolm Rook was recruited by the Chimera as a teenager. Now Malcolm is hunting the Reve for new recruits with the rarest of talents.

Jordan Lane is headed to the Envoi for a so called girls night out with her sister, one that she has spent everything she has to attend. Jordan has read so much about this place and it not so sure this is such a good idea.

As they delve into their dreamworlds Jordan and Malcolm's paths cross and it is not long before Jordan realises this is more than a girls night out. With her sister mixed up in something dangerous, Jordan is determined to find out what is really going on. Malcolm knows it won't be long before Jordan become the target but will she trust him and can he trust himself.

I found myself enthralled within Darkness Fall's storyline from the very beginning and fell in love with the strength and emotions of the characters and their stories. Praise to Erin Kellison for an amazing start to a new series and I look forward to the next instalment.

This is the first book in an ongoing storyline, an almost standalone with a happy for now ending. It aptly sets up book two in the series, which I will be reading.

Jordan has been taking care of her wild child younger sister for years when she reluctantly goes to a Reve to look after her. Rook, a Chimera, spots the sisters and is surprised when it is the conservative older sister who is the first reveler through the doorway to lucid dreaming. He quickly realizes he isn't the only one who will be recruiting her, because "Millions" is there and showing alot of interest. And with her innate talent, she will be a prime target for other recruiters, putting her in danger until she goes under his protection and her skills develop. But Jordan somehow sees the darkness associated with Rook from his years of tracking criminals, and winning her trust won't be easy.
