Besides being mechanical, I loved, in principal, that there are no keys markings; it seemed more elegant and unique, in principal. but in practice, I struggled.
I think this keyboard is very well made and works exactly as advertised. I used this on a macbook pro (yosemite) and windows 7 pro, and had no issues technically of any kind--truly plug and play. no drivers needed. And the hub worked great. The top case is very glossy (not sure if that was noted, but it was noteworthy to me), the keys are a 'normal' / muted finish.
If you are a Mac user and reading this, you probably read about the recommendations to switch your option key, which was very helpful for me, but of course, not necessary. (just a preference thing). and coincidentally, one of the keys worked to pull up the mac dashboard, cannot remember which one.
Unfortunately, I decided I needed to return this. it improved my typing skills (since I could no longer cheat for the parentheses, asterisks, slash keys, etc.), but I had a hard time with passwords, to the point where I felt it would only get worse.
Here is the "food for thought" part:
The tricky part for me with this keyboard was trusting when I create new passwords: am I typing what I think I am typing? When I create a new password, especially a complicated one, I like to look at the keyboard. As a workaround with the Das keyboard Model S, I found I needed the clipboard to create new passwords (typing the password to something like notepad then copying-pasting). But this became cumbersome and offputting for me, and could theoretically become a security issue as well.
Also, I ordered the Cherry MX Blue. I love the feel and clicks of the blue, but it is very loud. Most of you probably know what you are getting with a Blue, Brown, etc. But my advice would be to go find a store that has one before you buy it if you never have. For me, it is not that the MX Blue is loud, it is that it is very high-pitched, and annoyed me at times. I wonder if my neighbors can hear me typing. At night, when I typed on this, it did seem extra loud.
Finally, the reason I don't give this keyboard a full 5 stars is the price. I think there should be some hotkeys of some kind - a volume mute or control of some kind for the $125+ price. A well made, simple mechanical keyboard feels more like a $75-90 purchase. Are we paying extra for no labels (something that surely saves the company money)? Again, there was nothing unexpected for me - Das Keyboard represents this keyboard very well. And supposedly made it well too - whatever gold keys are (?) It is a texas-based company I think, but my keyboard was made overseas somewhere in Asia.
I have already ordered the Das Keyboard 4 as a replacement. It seems to have more of what I want in a keyboard, and I ordered brown. If I had not been impressed with this keyboard, I would not have ordered another Das product.
Bottom line: if you are aware of the cherry mx blue high-pitched clicking and truly ok with no labels, and want something unique, then ignore my comments, and I am sure you will be happy.
Great keyboard for typing. Not so good for programming where you're using foreign languages and all of the special characters if you don't remember which keys are exactly where. Keys pop off nicely for easy cleaning. It's got a splash tray under it to keep the switches from getting wet. It's an excellent keyboard. I have one of these and one with the letters on it. Lots of audio feedback. My clients love it, but for the ones that want your full undivided attention you'll have to explain to them that you're taking notes. It's about 10 times louder than a typical telemarketer's keyboard on a phone call.
The not so good.
Typing a 40 character password on this thing with special characters can be a bit of a pain. If people are trying to get into your system or one of your logins with this keyboard and they don't know how to type they will lock you out. My wife had to use my computer for something and locked me out of a couple of accounts. The one star off is because hub on the side hangs if you put something on it that draws a bit more amperage like a phone or a card reader, so there's that. I simply unplug mine and plug it back in to reset the hub and it works again. It does this on the one with the printing and without. It's likely the same exact hub hardware on both.
The lack of lettering was honestly a huge plus when I first got it; never realized how often I was looking at keys, even after typing for years. You will be a better typist making yourself use this.
It's well laid out, uses separate USB plugs for the hub versus keyboard to reduce driver requirements on boot and latency in gaming. Just remember to be courteous to neighbors in a cubicle farm. Cherry Blue switches are not known for being stealthy. If you need something not quite as loud, get the keyboard with Cherry Browns instead.

I also do a fair amount of gaming this keyboard is good for that job too, I think perhaps it's better suited to typing than gaming due to a couple of things, the first being that finding an individual key can be tricky in gaming situations and even though it's easy to type on you still would find some level of difficulty with, say, an RTS game where you need to press the "L" key which is surrounded by blank keys, secondly the keys study and I did notice after a couple of hours of Quake Live yesterday that I had a bit of fatigue in my left hand. I think the second point will probably get better over time as I am more used to it, but it's definitely worth mentioning.
Overall very happy with this purchase.
I'll start off by saying that if you're picky, it's probably a bad idea to buy a keyboard online unless you've actually tried it. This is a very nice keyboard to type on, but at the same time, it wasn't at all what I was expecting. The keys are quite soft and a little pingy - there's some kind of metal vibrating in the keyboard also at each keypress. That said, I'm used to the rock-solid feel of the IBM Model-M, but I feel I can type faster on the Das Keyboard because the keys offer less resistance and still has a good tactile feel.
The issues I have are:
1. Likely because of the point where the switches actuate, sometimes I don't actuate the Ctrl button when I mean to - I probably have a lazy pinky finger, but don't have this problem with other keyboards
2. If you want to use the USB hub, you need to plug the keyboard into TWO USB hubs. I don't know why this design decision was made. To make matters worse, even though you've connected it to two USB ports, they keyboard ports still cannot power my USB hard drive, which can normally be powered by one USB port when plugged into the computer
3. It's harder to tap the button quickly than a lot of other keyboards
This is the second one I bought. I still have my previous one, currently using it for work. I had to take out the keys and wash it after I spilled coffee on it. Two of the keys (f and g) got a sticky feeling, but I was able to yank out the numpad keys and use them as replacement. Haven't gotten around to buying replacement keys yet, it's on my to do list.
The glossy border surrounding the keys are a pain to keep smudge free though. The slightest touch and fingerprint stays. The USB pass through is convenient but quite a tight fit when inserting your device.
For the price I paid, I love the keyboard.
