The ONLY problem is the "alert" that the eggs are done sounds like an all out nuclear-air strike alarm, or at the very least, my fire alarm. I nearly shat my pants each time my eggs are done. I'll likely keep it because the eggs are so perfect, but just be aware of the banshee that gets released each time eggs are fully cooked.
---Oh my Lord Baby Jesus.---
There has never been anything so repulsive created within the four walls of my kitchen. I followed the directions to a capital T, but the "poached" eggs this thing produced were mostly clear, watery, and straight up insulting. They went right from the device to the garbage disposal. I wouldn't eat those eggs with YOUR mouth. DEE-SCUST-ING. Never again. Not even for the turtle.
It makes especially lovely, perfectly round omeletes with minimal cleanup required. Hard and soft boiled eggs cook evenly and taste great. The poached eggs are tender and melt in your mouth over toast.
I do believe that the water (thus, time) required to cook eggs is based on room-temperature eggs, the way they're kept in countries outside of the USA. If you keep your eggs in the fridge, add an extra third or so of water to the cooking time.
As other reviews have mentioned, the timer alarm is LOUD. Like, picture a fire alarm mixed with an incoming nuclear missle alarm, but make it about 12 times louder. There's no way to turn it off, so prepare to muffle it up with some cotton and tape if you want to keep your ears.
It's the perfect kitchen appliance. I grin from ear to ear every time I use it.
Also, I noticed there were some reviews complaining about the residue aftermath on the 'base' where the water boiled out but it's nothing out of the ordinary. We have hard water and it cleans up just fine. It's not any different than what we already experience on our pans but its just more shallow than your typical pan.
The packaging for this product is great -- several informative booklets and gorgeous design all around. The product itself is tiny -- about half the size of my rice cooker -- and takes up no counter space at all. It almost reminds me of Japanese design, for its simplicity and efficiency.
Using the product couldn't be easier: just pierce the eggs, put in the right amount of water (I general put in just a little more than the line for hard boiled, since my first batch came out a little less hard than I'd have liked), push the button and walk away. The only thing I don't like about this product is the fact that the buzzer does not stop buzzing until you attend to the cooker. So you couldn't just set it to cook and walk away to take a shower or do the laundry or whatever -- you need to come back and physically turn it off, lest you and the neighbors be subjected to the drone of its alarm.
BUT besides that, it does its job wonderfully! My eggs have all come out cooked just to my liking. I've only tried hard boiled, but I imagine that soft, poached, omelette, etc. all turn out just as well. It's a great little design and I'm so glad I splurged. You should too!

Well, I did what any egg lover would do and went ahead and ordered this lil' cooker. I was impressed. Rather than having to dirty yet another pot and wait for water to boil, I can just plug this thing in, put some eggs in, and BOOM! EGGS! After just minutes they were done ready for me and my egg-child to eat. I've even made omelettes and poached eggs and been pleased as well. I couldn't ask for more. It's the kitchen item I never knew I needed!
Now, the only downside is that the first time the buzzer goes off, you might just need a change of pants. You get used to it, but the buzzer to let you know the eggs are done is akin to the worst alarm clock you had as a kid...you know, the brown ones that probably your mom/dad or grandma/grandpa had that would somehow sound like an eagle getting tortured by a lawnmower? I mean, for an amazing cooker it's a small downside, just be prepared for a heart attack the first time you hear it.
I eat lots of boiled eggs and for the price thought I’d give it a go, so glad i did, I use it daily and it makes perfect medium boiled eggs every time, so pleased I now own one...
It doesn't work. The eggs are still raw after cooking.
I tried soft boiled, hard boiled, omelette and poached. I couldn't eat any of them. I threw this product in the bin along with all the wasted eggs. I'll stick to traditional cooking techniques from now on.
Perfect for boiled eggs, omelettes and frittatas!
So far I've used my machine 3 times to make poached eggs.
I used large eggs and followed the instructions to a T.
The first 2 batches of poached eggs were runny/messy and didn't fully cook. I poured the exact amount of water as outlined in the measuring cup and waited until the buzzer went off. I was disappointed in the end result. I did another run with my 3rd batch but this time added more water. The buzzer goes off when the water evaporates so I decided to experiment and add more water and voila we have 2 fully cooked poached eggs. I'm curious to see how medium eggs work at the recommended water level. The product does work once you understand what water level you actually need. I will provide further updates as the days go by. Next run is the omelette.
So I've had 3 omelettes since my purchase and again the measurement cup (guide) is inaccurate. The best solution to ensure you get a nicely cooked omelette is to add extra water and experiment your own levels.
The machine works when you learn how much water to put in for each method of cooking.
As for boiling eggs, I ran one cycle at medium and it looked medium so that passes.
It tells you when it is done with a loud sound.
It is very easy to use.
Easy to clean.
It plays a really loud annoying sound when done.
The measurement cup is inaccurate for poached and omelettes.
