Purchase options and add-ons
Is your child struggling with pooping?
Sometimes all it takes is one painful poop for a child to have a fear of having a bowel movement. Or chronic constipation can cause painful pooping which triggers fear of having a bowel movement. Their fear often leads to withholding, anxiety about using the toilet and potty training regression. Sometimes these issues persist even after the child is no longer suffering from chronic constipation or painful bowel movements. It is difficult to overcome a young child’s fear and anxiety with reasoning. This can be extremely frustrating for us as parents, and for our children who are struggling.
Dash’s Belly Ache is a simple, gentle story about Dash, a dog who doesn’t want to poop. His experience in the story will help reassure your child, lessen their anxiety, and help them overcome their fear of pooping. Dash’s story is relatable for toddlers and young children who are having a hard time with potty training, constipation or withholding.

Editorial Reviews
Review
She knows the words to the book and will often ask to read the book when she's about to poop.
After dealing with her constipation for over a year and a half, it's helpfulto have a variety of tools in our toolbox to work on finding the answerto the problem.
The book is simple and easy to understand and gets to the point. Part of me wishes Dash was an actual kid instead of a dogbut otherwise it's been a great resource and I still get a good laughwhen my daughter walks around the house saying, "pooping is awesome!"
Great book for Autistic children
This book is wonderful. My son was so constipated and keptholding his stool. He was fearful because it hurts coming out but I read him this book and it did wonders. Now he brings the book to me to read.Cute illustrations and straightforward lesson for toddlers and kids
We got this book to help our toddler with his potty training. He learned to pee in the potty easy but with poo, he was always too busy to sit and relax and then he started holding his poop in which wouldcause tummy issues. We love dogs so he related to Dash and Dash wantingto play with his friends. Our son asked to read this book again andagain until he finally got the hang of things. The graphics in the bookare cute and straightforward and it's an easy read. The expressions onDash's face are adorable.

About the author

Wendy is an author, advocate, wife, and mother who has had extensive personal experience dealing with constipation and gastrointestinal issues because her husband has Crohn's and her youngest son has Celiac and Megacolon. She is not a doctor or a medical professional. She is a woman who was determined to help her family.
Wendy's son was put on Miralax at age 4 for his chronic constipation. He suffered horrible side effects, including tics, anxiety, panic attacks, night terrors, mouth sores, slurred speech and delayed development. After seeing her son struggle with multiple health and neurological issues from Miralax, she decided that there had to be a better way than toxic medicines.
Under the care of an amazing Integrative Medicine doctor, she worked to find the root cause of her son's health issues.
Seeing the huge improvements in her son's health with the changes she made, she decided to share what she had learned with other families who were struggling with constipation and gut issues. Wendy has had the privilege to help thousands of families like hers to end their struggles with chronic constipation and undo the damage that the constipation caused.
