I am a professional photographer/artist that is constantly producing imagery and prints. I use this to calibrate the monitor on my apple laptop as well as my Samsung external monitor. It is very easy to use and works like a charm. Giving me accurate colors on both screens regardless of its manufacturer. I am very specific when it comes to printing my work so the Spyder X Pro allows me to consistently produce prints that look exactly how they are on my digital displays. Highly recommend this calibrator for all photographers regardless of their level of skill and knowledge in this industry.

i recently bought a new laptop. However, the defacult color accuracy of the display is not good. So, i decided to buy an affordable external calibrator. the Spyder X Pro is easy to use, the software downloaded from the manufacturer's website is also easy to install. After calibration, the image quailty on my laptop improved a lot. Highly recommend it!

Will calibrate only ONE of your multiple monitors

Maybe I miss that in the description. If you use multiple monitors, you need to pick the one that the color matters for apparently. That may be generally OK, but if the monitors are different make, model, size, or age, then pick the one you use to edit photos, because that's the profile both or all of your monitors will get. I didn't realize that until I tried to move the spyder to a second screen, and it popped back to the original, which fortunately is the on where my photos are when being edited. The other screens or OK, but one doesn't have the power to be as bright as the others (and that wouldn't change anyway).

Otherwise, if you use only one monitor, for you this could be a five star. It's fast and easy, and as far as I can tell, pretty accurate.

Works great, easy to use and was super simple to set up. Downloaded the software from their website, plugged it in, went through the guided process and boom, my screen was calibrated. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a reasonable screen calibrator.

FYI, this unit comes with a standard usb end on the cord with no usbc adapter. Being that the setup says not to run it through a hub, I purchased a usb - usbc adapter to hook it up direct to my MacBook.

Didn't cost much but actually works

I am using it on a Lenovo Thinkpad Z710 from circa 2014. Photo prints were way off from what I was seeing on screen. The SpyderX Pro was easy to use, did the job in less than 5 minutes and afterwards, my screen versions looked the same as they did on my iPad and prints. Things were a little blurred after the first use but a small change in gamma corrected this. Unfortunately my screen migrates out of calibration relatively quickly so I'm having plenty of use for this device.

An update: I bought a Dell XPS 17 with an OLED screen and the SpyderX Pro did not work. I went online and found that many people are having problems color-calibrating this model of computer with various colorimeters so it is not just a SpyderX problem. I then put in a request to Datacolor for help, asking them which model would work better. I received an email from Switzerland. Rather than getting me to buy a new colorimeter, they sent step by step detailed instructions on how to get SpyderX Pro to work with this computer. It worked right away - great, timely technical help.

Waste of time and money

Couldn’t get it to work correctly with DisplayCAL, it would just stop working at some point during the tests. I downloaded the official software which is less featureful and doesn’t provide anywhere close to the same level of information as DisplayCAL, but at least works with the device. Calibrating my three monitors (I had hoped) would match their white point while providing better color accuracy, since mismatched white point is very noticeable when reading PDFs. Calibration failed to do this, I had to manually correct their white points to match, which in my option makes the color calibration inaccurate and useless.

I spent over a month doing research and trying to learn as much as possible trying to calibrate two monitors to show somewhat similar colors. I tried a ton of different combinations as well as environments. I simply wasn't able to get anything satisfactory using this device. I achieved way better accuracy just eyeballing the two screens. I'm not ruling out that I might be the issue, but if you're a newbie trying to figure this out, you could be outta luck.

Tentei explicar que aqui não tem o X2 para vender e falaram que na Amazon tem, o que é mentira.

I have 3 x 32" 1440p monitor on my simracing rig that i couldn't setup correctly, whatever I tried, no meter how many hours I fiddled with the Rgb settings, the colors would just never match perfectly between the 3 monitors.
I thought this gizmo was expansive and I was skeptical that it would do any better than my eyes could but I decided to give it a try anyways...
OMG.... Within 20 minutes , my 3 monitors were configured and the colors match PERFECTLY between the 3 screens.
The software provided is perfect for my needs, and will be perfect for 99.9% of SpyderX targeted user, I.e. average guy/gal. If you're a pro photographer or video editor , just buy a professional product and software and stop bashing this product & software, which works perfectly for the average Joe.
