Steele pulls no punches as he explains how to attract the young, from dress codes to actions. The honest approach and advice are unusually solid and explicit, from sex and the young woman to analysis of her real motivation to step-by-step courting scenarios, with emphasis on strategy based on understanding. Men interested in a no-holds-barred approach will find this book unique, one of the most refreshing guides available. Women not involved in defining chauvinist behavior will learn a lot, too. --Diane Donovan, Chicago Tribune, July 18, 1992

I was wrong.
Very importantly, this book and the author have a high respect for all women and men. This book is absolutely not about how to take advantage of women. Quite the opposite. It is about how to make yourself into a quality man that women (of any age) want. It is about joy, honesty, and respect for both parties.
Practical, and doesn't shy away from hard truths like you have to get in shape and dress well to be attractive to women. How to approach, talk with, date--it's all here. However, the author is quite honest that you must supply the hard work like exercising, getting your head together, and learning and living the right attitude. As a bonus, this book and web site also led me to other intelligent and valuable books for self-help/self awareness.
This book is really much more than success with women. It naturally relates to the broader territory of success in personal and business life and self-esteem. More important, this is more than just a book. It is an entry point to a complete package of self-realization. For example, as detailed on his web site, the author also holds power suit shopping tours and his wife holds clothes shopping tours. Like ZZ Top said, "Every girl's crazy 'bout a sharp dressed man."! The book says dress well; I can see the logic and value of that but I personally have no clue when confronted with a hundred subtly different shoes in a shoe store. The shopping tour is a simple and brilliant solution. But don't get me wrong, the book itself never gets sidetracked. When necessary, it simply points out that you need to do this or points to excellent outside resources. For example, the author offers the simple condensed wisdom to run and work out but doesn't waste space on further details like training techniques. You have to be self-reliant and do that yourself. In short, excellent help for those who are willing to help themselves.
This is not a sleazy book written by a disco dan. As mentioned in the review, the author has worked with pioneering self-esteem pychologist Nathaniel Branden (another excellent author you can look up here). This book and the author's newsletter contain much wisdom about life, human nature, the workplace, and of course women.
One of my top ten books ever. Priceless for all men, especially if you are a conflicted nice guy who can relate to my first sentence above.
The author presents tons of information in a well structured and straightforward manner. He knows what he does, because he has learnt through his owns experiences in the real world.
But, I warn you, this book isn't a quick fix, it is about hard work. The principles are simple but effort, courage and energy are requiered, but hey!, you only live once. Anyway, you are not alone, the author in his web radio show at live 365 answers any questions regarding this matters, if you call.
Again, if you are from a different country and you are evaluating to buy it or not, because you think these principles are valid only in America, don't worry, BUY IT!
Women would find the book interesting and absolutely respectful about them, too.
And finally, remember, this book is about how to be a better and fully developed person, too.

In my defense, I bought it during a nasty divorce. Call it a moment of stupidity on my part.Read more
