The writer's pace is a bit too fast for me, but is nevertheless written with heart and at times, I was completely absorbed into the descriptions. The dialogue is fantastic; at times I was laughing aloud at Kacey's cockiness and the way she interacts with characters like Ripper. Urban fantasy is usually not my thing, but I enjoyed this book in the three days it took me to read it. I recommend this to people who enjoy light-hearted comedy sprinkled on an exciting adventure that will be difficult to forget. I'm looking forward to reading the sequel as some questions were left unanswered. An exciting novel by a great writer.
On her 18th birthday, Kacey learns that she is a Mage, & that the creatures from fairy tales are real!
Getting to know all of the characters, keeps you on your toes. I like that there always seems to be an air of mystery. Oh, plus, a little humor. Lol, my favorite line being, "I loved him like the internet loved bacon."!! I really liked this passage as well… World peace isn’t created by everyone smelling the roses, despite what some people would have you believe. Peace happens when your enemy wants something of yours and realizes he won’t get it if he tries to kill you. It sounds strange, but it works.”
The editing was good as well. I'm not able to give 5★'s as I wasn't able to finish the book for personal reasons.
My star ratings include these 5 elements:
1★ story line
1★ engaging characters
1★ use of word building
1★ being well edited
0★ the ending
