About the Author

David Altmejd (born in Montreal in 1974) is a Canadian sculptor who lives and works in New York City. Altmejd creates highly detailed sculptures that often blur the distinction between interior and exterior, surface and structure, representation and abstraction. His work has appeared in major exhibitions at the Brant Foundation Art Study Center (2011), the Vanhaerents Art Collection, Brussels (2010), the National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa (2010), the New Museum (2010) and the Solomon R. Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
This is a beautiful book and makes a nice gift for those interested in the artist's work. It is an insightful examination of the artist's development, with full-color photos and quotes from the artist on why certain aesthetic or material choices were made. Not theory heavy, which is very refreshing.
