If you are a Downton fan, and no I'm not talking about Downton Abbey, then this is a must have book. Downton, in my humble opinion, is one of the most influential fashion illustrator, and once you view his work, you will understand. His work is minimal, yet so hard to replicate (I've tried believe me, I've tried), and that puts him into a league, which he deserves, all of his own. Okay, enough of the flattery. As for the book, full of illustrations, printed on a nice weighty stock, nicely oversized, and a treat to thumb through. It's a treasury of this illustrator's work.

Beautiful book! Large, coffee table format and solidly bound - just good quality. However, the content it what it's all about. I had just happened to come across David Downton's work and I'm so glad I did - maybe Pinterest? Love the technique, so full of watercolor restraint, superb draftsmanship, and the adept's homage and synthesis of many great fashion illustrators from 30s-70s. Very inspired! Wow.
