Blog postA few months back I got some bad news. Amazon announced they were closing down the Kindle Worlds program. This was disappointing because I had only recently published my first Silo Saga novella there and had been working on a trilogy of short novels as a follow up. With KW shuttered, there was no reason to go forward with that story, regardless of the love I was feeling for my new character and excitement for the discoveries he would make in his buried home. Such is life.

Blog postWhen I started getting serious about writing a story in the Silo Saga for Kindle Worlds, I thought about other writers who might be good candidates to try to rope into this fiasco with me. My idea was not that we should write a story together, but rather that we might craft our tales in such a way that they referenced each other subtly. I loved the idea that it might be possible for an eagle-eyed reader to spot the places where we overlapped. After giving it some thought, I settled on approac5 years ago Read more

Blog postAs luck would have it, author Hugh Howey came through town to do a book signing four days after my own Silo Saga novella was released. I showed him the listing for my book as he signed my copy of his new book, MACHINE LEARNING. He was a good sport and complimented the photo I chose for the cover, which was above and beyond as far as I was concerned. I was able to tell him that WOOL inspired me to take the leap from writing screenplays to writing novels. Then the guy behind me in line dumped o5 years ago Read more

Blog postHere is the scheme as I am scheming it up currently…
I will publish eBooks through Amazon for the Kindle for at least three of my screenplays. I’ll start with Z-REX and put up SNAKEFIGHTER and LACED UP once I get some art finished for the covers.
Do I expect that people will want to read unproduced screenplays on an e-reader?
I don’t know. I do think they’ll enjoy these stories if they give them a shot.
The bigger reason to publish these eBooks is to get all my d5 years ago Read more -
Blog postWhy do these posts populate the front page the way they do? I’ll need to figure out the controls to make them go in the way I want.
If you’re seeing this post and are confused about the Carson/ICP image, all I can say is that it made sense during the last repub primary for some reason.

This 23k word Silo Saga novella is set in the world of Hugh Howey's WOOL and has been published with his permission. While it is not absolutely necessary to have read his Silo trilogy first, it is recommended.
They are perceived as dangerous, unpredictable, and unapproachable.
The perfect cover for something inhuman that wants to walk among us.

Saint Patrick is said to have driven the snakes from Ireland.
Many believe that is simply a metaphor for the decline of paganism after he brought Christianity to the region.
Others think he led the fight against a brutal serpent cult and their living god: a giant snake.
This story assumes that second option.
It delivers a historical fantasy that blends the elements of Patrick's life and legend into an action-packed tale of love, loss, and revenge, and of snakes that are more than a metaphor. It presents a vision of an ancient Ireland suffering under the control of a violent, demonic cult, and of the heroes who rally behind a reluctant ex-slave to free their land and people from the grip of evil. It provides realistic alternatives to the miracles that are attributed to Saint Patrick's life and replaces that missing magic with new angles on various Irish myths.
It explains why we still wear green on Saint Patrick's Day, and why we risk a pinch if we don't.

Those two words should have been enough to interest Brock Darrington, the world’s most famous big game hunter, but he’d experienced a change of heart and would no longer take the life of any animal.
His brother Dirk, leader of an infamous black-ops mercenary team, has no such qualms.
When word comes back that Dirk’s team is missing inside a sprawling, top secret research laboratory filled with violent, infected lab technicians and one cloned Tyrannosaurus rex, Brock is faced with a choice. Will he employ his legendary skills one final time to rescue his brother, or will he do nothing and let Dirk die for certain when the facility is destroyed for containment purposes in 24 hours?
WARNING: This story involves a number of animals, including dogs, that come to untimely ends. This is not done for gratuitous reasons and does serve the overall story, including the point and payoff of the ending. I feel it is only fair to mention this before a reader decides to engage with this story. I understand very well that this issue can be a deal breaker for some readers. Proceed with caution.
