Tijan's book Fallen Crest High was gritty, suspenseful and darkly romantic, so I really hate to say anything negative about this author because she is fabulous, but this book was repetitive, unromantic in the end, and left way too many unanswered questions; even for a first book in a series. I have to believe this was one of Tijan's earlier creations that, when edited correctly, could become something fantastic because Tijan is a really fascinating writer.

Davina or Davy, as she insists on being called, is a powerful empath who can feel the emotions of others and also know when vampires or werewolves are in the vicinity. While on friendly terms with werewolves, vampires are her enemies. When Davy unsuccessfully tries to prevent a girl from jumping to her death, she "sees" a gloomy or fatal "forecast" in the girl's mind before she jumps which causes Davy to feel foreboding for her own future. Then Davy's clueless roommate Emily falls for a dangerous looking vampire named Luke Roane and Davy's best supernatural friend Kates comes into town with her own deviant agenda. Davy and vampire Roane are thrown together as he tries to use Davy to prevent Kates from her caring-out her illegal agenda. Davy and Roane notice that they have a strong attraction for each other which they can't understand as they are natural enemies. They just can't keep their hands off each other despite the danger of an upcoming war between two opposing vampire clans who want the illusive prophesied human Immortal.

I did like the idea of the story but I wouldn't read the sequel as I like my stories romantic and fleshed out and this one was wasn't. Those of you who like action over romance, may like this one a little better than I did. If you are reading this book because you fell in love with Fallen Crest High, you will be disappointed. It doesn't compare.

This was a really great book. Ive read everything else that Tijan has written but seemed to not want to read this series. I'm glad I finally tried it and read it. Davy Harwood is an Empath and strange things start happening all of a sudden. She's gone off to college to attempt to be normal but so many things are going to stop that from happening. All of a sudden there are tons of Vampires around and Davy has the ability to know what they are. She starts hearing about The Immortal, which is like a fantasy for Vampires because supposedly if a Vampire drinks from an Immortal then they become Immortal and way more powerful. Davy is a strong woman that has had a pretty strange and at times horrible life. She has had to deal with way more than most people. Now things are changing even more and she just has to figure different things out. Luke Roane is a Vampire and a Hunter. He's very powerful, gorgeous, and is trying to protect Davy.

Definitely worth reading and looking forward to reading the next book.

I loved this book, it was so different, I liked the mixture of paranormal characters. I love Davy and of course swooned over Roane. I liked this storyline, how she is emphatic but then becomes the "Immortal", this book was packed full of action and suspense. There are all kinds of characters in this book, vampires like Roane, her best friend from the past Kate who is a slayer that cannot do what she was born to do, the evil twin brother of Roane, and her roommate Emily. We learn some things about what the "Immortal" is and how this started but there is still slot of mystery with what all of it means. There is a surprising twist at the end of the book, can't wait to read the next one in this series.

When I read the blurb before purchasing this book I must not have fully comprehended it because it blew me away when I realized this was a paranormal read.
I've read the Fallen Creat series by Tijan so I already knew I was going to be reading an amazingly written book and I loved how she sucks you into the story of Davy and how your wanting her to become the heroine you already feel like she can be even though she keeps doubting herself.
Lucas on the other hand, every vampire gets compared to those that have been watched on the big screen. Lucas does not fall into that category for me because he is the unexpected.
If your into paranormal reads this definitely needs to be added to your TBR.

Rereading this book in preparation for Davina and I noticed I haven't reviewed any of them. I really loved this book Lucas and Davina are a favourite couple of mine even though they are not really a couple I this book. Tijan has done it again and created a world I can get lost in. I feel Davina fear and hurt along with her and I look forward to rereading the next book again

A little disappointed. I loved the concept but i just felt like things still needed to be developed and it felt rushed in areas. I didnt feel the romance between Roane and Davy, so when she found out he loved someone else I didn't feel much emotion. What bugged me the most was how many times "she gasped" in the book. It was over 6 times...needed a different word.

I love paranormal stories and Tijan delivered for me with Davy Harwood. This story had some mojo with all the different vampire, werewolf, witches and immortal characters! I wasn't sure at first but once I got into the story I was hooked and couldn't wait to read the next book in the series Davy Harwood in Transition.
