About Dawn Henderson
Author & storyteller. Eternal spiritual adventurer, spiritual teacher & mentor; channel. Coffee guzzler and chocolate muncher.
D.K. (otherwise known as Dawn) Henderson lives and writes in the mystical, magical landscape of Wiltshire, England, surrounded by the ancient & mysterious stone circles of Stonehenge and Avebury. When she isn't snuggled up on the sofa with her notepad and pens, a bottomless supply of coffee and chocolate biscuits and her family of crystal skulls, writing her next novel, or wandering the ancient down-lands that inspire her writing, you may well find her on the dance floor indulging her other big passion, whether ballroom, Ceroc or a good old boogie.
Dawn's author career began in 2009 when Forgotten Wings was published by John Hunt Publishing. It wasn't until 2012 though that she found her way to fiction with the release of Lost Legacy, the first book in her popular The Skull Chronicles series, quickly followed by the next three books in the series - The Red Skull of Aldebaran, Daughter of the Gods and Khalia's Tomb. Book V, Heart of Regulus, has been recently released.
DKH has 2 alter egos. The first, Dawn K. Henderson, is the author of 'Heel Lead', a feel good short novel of love, friendship and second chances in a provincial ballroom dance class.
The second, Dawn Henderson, wears her non-fiction hat as the author of 'Forgotten Wings: a guidebook to spiritual growth and personal transformation' and 'Starspeak' and Starspeak 2' two short volumes of channelled messages from our star brothers and sisters and the crystal skulls.

What would you do if an ink-black skull suddenly materialised out of thin air, right in front of your nose?
Scream? So did I…
That skull was Gileada, the first of the 13 sacred crystal Skulls of Light, created in long forgotten times by races of benevolent beings from across the galaxy and brought to Earth to watch over the human race.
Since the days of Atlantis, there have been those who have coveted the Skulls’ power for their own dark purposes. And there have been those willing to sacrifice everything to keep the Skulls safe.
Now the dark forces are rising again, their influence growing daily. And the Skulls have made contact with me, wanting my help to defeat them.
Why me? As yet, I have no idea. All I do know is that I’m scared, confused, and completely out of my depth – and that I can’t say ‘No’.'

I can’t breathe. I can’t see. I’m lost, irretrievably. A rattle sounds in my throat as I take my final breath. On the ground, just out of reach, a glassy blue skull stares at the new corpse with lifeless eyes.
Only this isn’t my death, it’s someone else’s. Someone on a continent 5000 miles away.

In the times before time, thirteen sacred crystal skulls were forged by highly advanced, benevolent races from across the galaxy and beyond, and brought to Earth to watch over the evolution of humankind. Since that beginning, they have been coveted by those who have sought to seize the power of the skulls for their own dark purposes.
Three years after the skulls first made contact with her and her life changed forever, Gemma Mason is being drawn ever deeper into their mysteries. Accompanied by her friend Joe, an expert on the skull legends, she faces a world where danger hides in every shadow, death follows brutal death, and unknown enemies stalk every move she makes. What do they want? What do they think she knows? Her only option is to enter ever deeper into the darkness in search of answers, for until Gemma has fulfilled her mission to bring knowledge of the Skulls of Light to humankind, her enemies will stop at nothing to achieve their goals.
And throughout, the stories of the thirteen skulls continue to unfold in Gemma's writing. Khalia is the fifth of those thirteen Skulls of Light, created among the stars of the Pleiades from the purest deep green jade. This is also her history...
- A man stumbles panic-stricken through the jungle with the jade skull gripped in his hands, fleeing the horrors of an ancient apocalypse.
- A guardian princess and her lover escape the Pyramid Temple of Atlantis carrying the jade skull, crossing barren continents to keep it safe from its enemies.
- A young English widow runs for her life from a palace prison, taking the jade skull with her. Who are the unseen allies who keep her alive as she crosses the icy wastes of a desolate mountain range, chased by an enemy who will kill anyone who gets in their way to the skulls?

‘My dearest Child, from the day the skulls came into your life and you accepted their invitation, you always knew, in some secret place deep within your soul, that this was the way it would go.’
For tens of thousands of years, there have been those who have kept the 13 ancient off-world crystal Skulls of Light safe. Protecting them from the clutches of the dark forces that would use the Skulls’ immense power for their own evil purposes.
Muu-Nan is the 6th of these Skulls, forged in the star system of Arcturus and known to Earth’s ancient civilisations as the Heart of Regulus. From the peaceful glades of a forgotten land to the legendary continent of Atlantis and on to the sun-baked desert lands of a mighty civilisation, Muu-Nan’s human guardians are prepared to sacrifice everything to keep him safe.
Then there is me: ordinary, unremarkable Gemma Mason. Author and mother who the Skulls, in their infinite wisdom, have chosen to share their stories with the world. Preparing us for their return. Hurling me so far out of my comfort zone, it’s disappeared over the horizon.
Now those dark forces have tracked me down and they’ll stop at nothing to get what they want. With my intrepid friend Joe by my side, I’m hurtling ever deeper into a mystery that will push us to our limits – and may also take our lives.
But I’m in too deep to turn back.
Heart of Regulus is a fast-paced, un-put-downable metaphysical fantasy adventure, the 5th book of The Skull Chronicles.

Is your life filled with Life? Or do you feel that somehow you're missing the point but don't quite know why?
In Forgotten Wings, Dawn Henderson offers us 10 simple keys to opening up to the magical & limitless potential of life. It is knowledge that seems new but is as old as existence. Through the insights, wisdom and reawakened knowing that she has received on her own ongoing journey of spiritual discovery, Dawn reminds us of who we truly are and why we have chosen to play this game of life.
'Just thinking about this book makes me smile. It encompasses many spiritual truths - choosing love over fear, being present, how we create our own reality, listening to our inner voice... But Dawn says it all so well, so effortlessly that you glide through chapters easily whilst stopping to think and reflect as her words touch you deep inside.
So much is said that will remind you of what you already know but in everyday life you overlook it so easily. The book covers 10 keys to life. After Dawn introduces you again to what you may have forgotten, she takes you through steps to reconnect to this wisdom. In each of the 10 main chapters this is expanded and related to her life and her journey. She intersperses each chapter with "power thoughts". I particularly liked "I am perfect in my imperfection" in the chapter called "Choose Love" and there are many more I am going to use daily just to remind me about what really matters and where my focus should be.
I would recommend this book as an antidote to our fast, commercial and materialistic world. Keep a copy by your bed and take nightly doses tokeep you sane! Loved it.' Kindred Spirit, May 2011
Former UK dance champion Caroline Elliott has two burning passions in her life: her sexy, young Spanish lover Antonio, and the weekly Ballroom dance class she teaches to a diverse group of enthusiastic locals in the small English town of Castleham where she lives.
But Caroline has a problem. The numbers attending her class have dwindled and unless she can somehow breathe new life into it, she will have no choice but to close down. A dance display at the local Arts Festival might just be the perfect opportunity to showcase her students and pull in those much-needed new members. How difficult could it be?
With the date of the display approaching, however, illness, affairs and relationship break-ups threaten to crush Caroline’s hopes. As she battles to keep rehearsals on track and soothe her students’ rampant nerves, she must also conquer the demons of a long-ago tragedy in her own life.
Will she be able to let go of her fears and step into the spotlight once again?
Heel Lead is an emotional, passionate and poignant story that entertains while it tugs at your heartstrings. In this short yet compelling novel, author Dawn K. Henderson presents a captivating tale of the power of love, dance and the ties that bind us.
Whether you are a ballroom diva who rocks the rumba and wows with your waltz, or have two left feet, you'll love Heel Lead, a feel good short novel of love, friendship and second chances in a provincial dance class.
AN INTERVIEW WITH THE AUTHOR
What themes does Heel Lead encompass, other than ballroom dancing?
Several primary themes run through this novella, the main ones being love and relationships, and the importance of friendship in our lives, and also that there is almost always the opportunity of a second chance, if we are prepared to take it. Virtually all the characters in Heel Lead are given this second chance in some way. Of course, there is also a healthy dash of romance and passion.
Heel Lead is a wide departure from your previous novels in The Skull Chronicles series. What made you decide to change genre?
About 12 years ago I started ballroom dancing. I walked into my first class, and I was hooked. It was one of the best decisions of my life. It's been so much fun, and has given me so many close friendships, that I felt a powerful pull to use my love of ballroom dancing as the basis for a feel-good short story.
I was also ready for a (temporary) change of genre. The Skull Chronicles are complex novels, weaving story lines through from one book to the next, and each novel is nearly 400 pages, nearly twice as long as Heel Lead's 200 pages. It was fun and a new experience to write a novella focused on romance.
Why should readers choose Heel Lead?
It's emotional, often poignant, with warm characters that most readers will be able to relate to. It's not just a story about ballroom dancing, although that is the setting. It's much more about human interaction and relationships, love and friendships, with all that entails. Plus, it's a novella, a short story, and an easy read that you can get through in a couple of hours. Perfect for holidays, the daily commute or a cosy evening in.

We are moving through a time of massive change, unprecedented in recorded memory, a time in which life as we know it is being turned upside down. But we do not have to travel through this often confusing and disorientating process alone, for from across the galaxies our star brothers and sisters have gathered to help us through this transformation.
As we move through these turbulent times, the words offered to us by our star brothers and sisters overflow with encouragement, hope and guidance – and an occasional gentle reminder of our personal responsibilities towards each other and our home – to reassure and inspire all who read them.
Many people on Earth are now being contacted by these loving beings, receiving their words of to share with those who as yet do not hear them. This book contains some of these messages, received by the author from these highly evolved and benevolent star races, messages that are filled with the love and wisdom of the universe.
About the author:
Dawn's first book, 'Forgotten Wings; A guide to spiritual growth and personal transformation' was published in September 2009 by O-Books. Forgotten Wings was the product of her many years of work as a healer and spiritual seeker, and a powerful pull to share her knowledge and soul wisdom more widely. She is a warm, inspiring writer and speaker whose own spiritual voyage of discovery began over 20 years ago. Ever since, her quest for a deeper spiritual connection and understanding has led her on a heart and soul awakening apprenticeship.
In the summer of 2011 Dawn's work took another new turn when the crystal skulls and star beings of light suddenly and unexpectedly entered her life. Since that time, she has been working almost exclusively with them. Inspired by this contact and the messages they were bringing her she turned to writing fiction and in April 2012 she published her debut novel, Lost Legacy, the first in a series entitled The Skull Chronicles. Her writing embraces her interest and passion for these crystal skulls and ancient mysteries.
It was while Dawn was on an extended visit to Sedona in November 2012 that her guides asked her to temporarily put this work aside and to compile as a book the messages she has channelled since they began contacting her. The result was Starspeak; this is the follow up volume she has been intending to write ever since.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Dawn lives in the beautiful county of Wiltshire, surrounded by its mysterious ancient landscape and stone monuments, which are an important source of inspiration for her writing. She has a grounded, earthy spirituality which is based as much in the appreciation and enjoyment of our physical existence as in the unseen world around and within us.
