"Dawn's Early Light" hit me right in the heart. As someone who has watched my hometown decline over the past few decades - the closed factories, the boarded up Main Street shops, the neighbors quietly battling addiction - I've often felt helpless and angry, but unsure where to direct that anger. Roberts' book helped me understand not just what went wrong, but gave me real hope that we can fix it.

It won't be easy, but nothing worth doing ever is. This book, especially after President Trump's re-election, has convinced me that morning in America is coming again, if we have the courage to fight for it.
Does the book have reasonable criticisms of both parties and point out flaws in our system? Yes. But what makes it special is that it charts a path forward rooted in the best of who we are as Americans. It's time to stop managing decline and start rebuilding. This book is a rallying cry for every American who still believes in the promise of this country and is ready to do something about it.
