The frame itself is not actually made of wood, but is a very capable facsimile. Short of taking the frame off your wall and examining it carefully, the average visitor to your home or office should not notice that the frame is some sort of composite material with a wood appliqué. The quality of the materials is solid, the corner seams line up perfectly, and the backing material/stand is by no means flimsy. Also worthy of note is that the front pane is real glass, not plastic. (My first frame arrived with a broken pane but Amazon replaced it immediately and easily, NO HASSLE! I clicked "return" online and set the box on my doorstep for UPS to pick up- that's it! I didn't even have to print a return label.)
The product is identical to the image provided by Amazon. The "rosewood", as the name implies, has a deep burgundy tone. There is a solid black accent bar around the frame, which is fairly visible in the product picture. The main matte is also black, with a thin burgundy accent at the inner rim, also somewhat visible in the product photo. I used this frame for a crème-coloured certificate and the colours compliment perfectly.
I only had one small and easily-fixed problem. The back stand is thick and sturdy- great for displaying on a bookshelf. However, when mounting on a wall, it had a tendency to push one corner of the frame away from the wall, which was quite undesirable. Two pieces of scotch tape secured the stand and cured the issue entirely.
Overall, I'm extremely pleased with this frame.Read more ›
not the highest quality--but worth the price paid for sure.
the 11x14 is the actual frame size, not the size of the document....
It has a stand for placement on a counter or table, and hooks for hanging on the wall. It hangs flat if you tape the stand down.
There are more elegant frames available for more money - I'd give them five stars. This one I give four, though I don't think you'll do better for $25.
Update: I just got a replacement and it seems to be from a different batch. It is definitely heavier (so I would think the material is different, but I can not say it is wood), the labels are different, and it's packaged in an individual carton box. The packaging this time was good.
I know this isn't Amazon's fault, but Amazon should not let such poor vendors sell on their website!
In contrast to other frames that I have bought: I have multiple diplomas, certificates, and awards hanging on my wall. Most of them are in $100+ frames. I have an additional certificate that I wanted a frame for, but I didn't feel the need to purchase something quite as expensive. I want to protect it and show it off, but I don't cherish it quite as much as my other diplomas. Despite the low cost, this frame does not look out of place. There are obvious quality differences if you want to get really close and inspect the details, but no one ever does.
The only thing that I didn't like about this frame was the arm on the back that allows you to prop it up on a desk. If you want to sit the frame on a desk I'm sure it is fine, but I wanted to hang it up on the wall. When pressed against the back for wall mounting, the arm actually extended slightly past the edge of the frame (and was slightly rounded at the end from the shrink-wrap that it was packaged in). I removed the arm before hanging by prying the back portion of the hinge off. This was a minor problem because it was so easy to fix, and didn't warrant a lower rating.
If I earn any additional documents that need framing for display, I will probably purchase another.

Very well made frame and matt. Feels solid. The glass pane broke into large pieces during shipping. I did not request replacement. Read morePublished 17 days ago by Chi Ho Eric Cheung
I have bought 5 of these and for the money you can't beat them. They are the same frame the Universities use when you order your diploma framed and charge 200.00 for. Read morePublished 27 days ago by waw2353

The frame looks nice but they put a tiny metal rectangle on the back to hang it with which makes it rather unstable. Read morePublished 1 month ago by Andrew Timmons
