This book really got me going in getting me more interested in demonology. These things really do happen. This man and his wife took this experience just minute by minute and day by day. I don't think I could have done as well as they did. That devil and those demons really are master deceivers. They have been fooling and deceiving humans since the beginning of time. There is so much to learn and know about concerning the kingdom of darkness. Jesus is the kingdom of Light, His Marvelous Light. They had put themselves in great danger by dealing with this woman and didn't even know it. By the grace and love of our Father God and Lord Jesus they are and were protected. We believers do have a hedge of protection and a wall of fire forever surrounding us to keep us safe. We are here to help others come to the saving grace of Jesus and the kingdom of Light so as not to be cast into hell for not receiving Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Jesus is the only way to the Father and to Heaven. This book is a thriller, first class thriller. This really is a must read.

This book is very interesting and thought provoking. Thought provoking is the best way I could describe this book.
Basically Bill Scott is a former Christian radio station DJ who received a phone call a few days before Halloween in 1988. The person on the phone was a woman who claimed to be possessed. From that point the story covers the 18 months that followed after Bill Scott let this woman enter his home and his life.
Whether you're religious, a believer in the paranormal, or a skeptic you'll find this book very interesting. Even if you don't believe this woman was possessed by demons it's a very intriguing story of a person going out of his way and putting his own well being on the line to help someone despite increasing signs that the woman's goal all along was to corrupt and ruin this good Samaritans life.
Whether you think this woman was a con artist, mentally disturbed, or a victim of demonic possession with an extremely creepy and evil hidden agenda this is a book that you'll fly through fairly quickly and will leave you thinking about what you just read.

I'm Christian so I'm generally okay with the idea of possession as a reality but that doesn't make each one true, does it? This is quite a story and we'll worth a read. Whether it's true or not (I tend to believe the author) it's generally well written. What I liked was that for all of the whacky phenomena the author describes (ya know, typical demonic activity antics; demons will be demons), he analyzes it from the various angles that any reasonable person would. I thought I would get a wee bit frightened reading it in bed at night but I didn't because the author was so level-headed about it all. Good book and I'm glad I read it. I hope it's true because I don't read fiction as a rule.

There many good reviews of this book, but I wanted to focus on an important theme illustrated well in this book that many clergy and congregations simply do not appreciate. That theme is the calculated and strategic planning by the demonic to break up Christian marriages, relationships, and churches. The fact that satan is rarely addressed from the pulpit now has no bearing on his powers, and we seem to forget that demons have thousands of years of practice undermining the body of Christ. And many of us do not appreciate the power and fortune that can be obtained by selling out to satan- there is a reason these satanic covens exist. Remember that Christ himself was tempted by satan.
This book also shines some light on the disgusting practices of satanic covens. The author is not able to follow up on the horrible claims made by the witch in question, but there is ample evidence from many former Satanists that she could have been telling the truth about human sacrifice and other rituals, practices so abominable that many people will turn away in disbelief. But clergy should not have the luxury to take such an approach- if clergy don't believe that such things happen, how can they help someone trying to break away from it- where else can they go to?
I also strongly recommend "The Devil Called Collect: The Exorcism of Jessica Leek", which was written by a Methodist minister and has a similar though distinct theme. In both books there is a plan implemented by the demonic through satanic covens to confuse and undermine religious leaders. If you are in the clergy, you should read both because there is no greater "joy" in hell than to compromise or break one of Christ's servants. Don't fall victim- your desire to help has to be tempered by a practical appreciation of the true foe.
Many thanks to the author for a revealing and chilling persona account of his brush with the demonic.

This is one of the most interesting and captivating stories on the demonic that I've read(and I've read alot). For not being a professional author, Bill Scott has written very well and while the writing is a bit brisk it keeps you turning pages.
What I liked most is that, unlike many books on the demonic, Bill more or less simply gives you the story, rather than endless commentary and explanations on why things happened, he simply states what and how it happened. This is a refreshing take on subject of the demonic as most books in this genre, for better or worse, are weighted down with heavy commentary and often feel more like a textbook rather than just a story.
One more aspect which makes this book worth your while, is that it is an extremely unique case of possession, with the twist at the end showing just how far-reaching these evil entities can be. I think many readers took the twist the wrong way, IMO the twist at the end in no way demeans or disproves this story as a true account of the Devil but rather solidifies that fact.

A Spiritual Educational Read

I found this book an interesting read. Bill Scott before he knew it was in a knee deep battle against Satan. In this field it's hard to find true advice that will have effects when it comes to this kind of battle. Bill may have made mistakes along the way and have suffered losses throughout the result of this Spiritual Warfare. But, having said this I would say he is now more knowledgeable having gained knowledge on this subject. Going head on with the devil can be a very dangerous thing to do when you have little or no experience as Bill found out.
Over all it was a good read and would recommend anyone to read it.

Incredible story......

An amazing true story and easy to read. In fact I read it in a couple of days. Having enjoyed Rebecca Brown's They Came to Set the Captives Free, I was looking for something similar and it didn't disappoint. You can really feel Bill's exasperation through the twists and turns of his journey! Excellent.
