The 21 inch size of the Daymark disposable pastry bags are the ones you'll want to use whenever you've got a bucket of whipped cream to pipe, are frosting cupcakes for a crowd, making a ton of choux pastry, or frosting and embellishing a large layer or sheet cake.

Just like the other pastry bags in this product line, the plastic used is sturdy enough, although not as pliable as the plastic used for food storage bags. They can be used with or without tip couplers, and they can also be used with both the small or large and extra large decorating tips since you cut the small end off the bag to insert the tip or coupler.

Keep in mind that you'll need to keep approximately one-third of the bag at the wide end empty since you'll be twisting it closed over the lump of frosting, pastry, or whipped cream and using it to hold the bag while you push the contents out through the tip.

Between this top area kept free for the twist-and-close and the inch or two you'll be snipping off the small, pointed end of the bag for the coupler and/or decorating tip, the bag size will be reduced from the original 21 inches in actual use. It's still a huge bag and is meant to be used for the biggest of your baking and embellishing jobs. If you're not planning on decorating more than a couple dozen cupcakes or a regular layer cake, the DayMark 115436 18" Hand-E-Grip Disposable Pastry Bag with Dispenser (Roll of 100) bags may be more suited to the job and easier to handle.

Recommended, but only for those baking and decorating jobs that involve a massive amount of frosting or pastry.

Good Size for Cupcake Decorating

This 18 inch size of the Daymark disposable pastry bags are a good size to choose if you're frosting a batch or two of cupcakes or embellishing a cake. The best part of using these is that there is no messy cleanup like you have when using reusable pastry bags since you just remove your decorating tip or coupler and toss it in the trash when you're done.

As with the other pastry bags in this product line, the plastic used is sturdy enough, although not as pliable as the plastic used for food storage bags. They can be used with or without tip couplers, and they can also be used with both the small or large and extra large decorating tips since you cut the small end off the bag to insert the tip or coupler.

Keep in mind that the actual in-use size of the bag will be reduced by the amount you cut from the tapered end, so what starts out as an 18 inch bag will actually be shortened by a couple of inches when used. If you're planning on a massive amount of decorating on a large cake, you might prefer the DayMark 115437 21" Hand-E-Grip Pastry Bag with Dispenser (Roll of 100) bags.

If you sometimes feel like you could use an extra hand when filling the bag with frosting or pastry for piping, here's a hint that might help. After inserting the tip or coupler into the bag, I fold over about a third of the bag to the outside then place the tip end of the bag into a tall glass with the folded portion hanging outside of the top of the glass. Then you can fill the bag using both hands to hold the mixing bowl of frosting and the spatula or large spoon without trying to steady the bag upright at the same time. This also makes sure you've got enough clean bag material at the top to twist closed to begin piping.

LOVE THESE! I have these in both 18" and 12". This size is great for doing larger quantities of cupcakes because they hold a lot more frosting than the 12". I use the smaller size to do smaller detail work because they are easier to handle, but these are great for large swirls that require a lot of frosting. These are far superior to the Wilton frosting bags. I've never had a leak through the seams (one in 5 had a hole in the Wilton brand). They feel a little like the sticky part of Glad Press & Seal wrap which some people have complained about. I find it nice because it doesn't slide around in your hand, even when your hands are a little wet (I'm constantly rinsing my hands)
They don't just pop out of the box, but it doesn't bother me to take the roll out of the box and rip one or two off the roll. I mean, honestly, are we that lazy to complain about something like that? Oh, no! You mean I have to take these all the way out of the box?! (notice dripping sarcasm) These are great bags and a good value. I highly recommend getting both this and the 12" size if you do cupcakes and cake decorating on a regular basis.

I use these to pipe marshmallows and I love the size! They're almost large enough to hold a full batch of marshmallow batter which is super nice. I also like how they're rolled in such a way that they actually stay rolled. I've purchased other bags that come with a "dispenser" but the bags end up not working well with the dispenser because they're either loose or they just fall out of the dispenser because it's poorly designed. This is a very sturdy box that converts to the dispenser and the bags stay rolled, almost too well! I'm ok with it because it ensures they don't come unrolled and make a mess. I also bought the smaller size for piping ganache and I love them! I will continue ordering these bags as long as Amazon carries them.

decided to purchase these disposable bags after throwing out my reusable one because it was more sanitary to me. these are super big. if you like to make small batches of something, i suggest buying the 12” ones. it is sturdy and thick, and has a sort of rubbery gripping “feel” to the outside when you handle it. when it gets hot and my hands get clammy, it’s great so the bag doesn’t slip out of my grip. i’ve used these a few times already and it hasn’t burst at the seams or anything like that. definitely purchasing again once i’ve run out

The size of the piping bag is very large which makes piping and filling easy. Material is sturdy and does not rip or burst like other disposable piping bags. The only thing I would say is that the material somewhat sticks to itself in the sense that when you open it to fill, it's not smooth material and does have a lot of folds/crinkle, so it makes refilling buttercream in the bag harder to do. Regardless, these are amazing for decorating and piping.

These bags are excellent , Some of the other bags are maybe $5 less ? But nowhere near it in terms of quality ! I cheaped out the first time , and the bags leaked with a gentle squeeze with WATER inside ! These ones I’ve used with thick buttercream and Nutella with no issues, super strong for piping and easier for fill as well because the plastic is so strong! Great customer service from the seller!
