overall this puzzle is a high quality and amazing puzzle and is highly recommended
I loved the stickerless design of the megaminx- I have several older (and younger) cubes with sticker/tile issues. Ex- my dayan zhanchi's stickers are ragged and a few corners have peeled. my shengshou 5x5 which was recieved just after i ordered the dodecahedron, the 5x5's stickers are peeled off in some corners! even on the inside of the cube!
There should be more stickerless cubes AND most companies should offer $1 replacement stickers that are to be shipped with the original product. I modded a rubik's brand 3x3 for a friend so he can learn (he shows interest in cubing) and one of his "genius" friends ended up "solving" the 3x3 by peeling the stickers off (and i later fixed the color scheme for him). stickerpeeling will forever be present in society's mindset for solving the cube and I'd just like the option to go stickerless and/ or be presented the option for cheaper stickers to come in case this happens!
All my (2) dayan cubes have been fantastic out of the box- my zhanchi and my megaminx. My zhanchi required some spring lubrication as there was an issue of some "pinging" springs. My older rubik's brand cubes have similar issues, but with dayan cubes, I can fix this through removing the caps. No popped caps yet from the megaminx, but the next time i drop it, it is likely to lose some center caps as my zhanchi has popped centercaps from multiple drops.
The tensioning on mine is fine, but the option is there should i feel the need.
The ridges are quite novel, and I like them because it makes a pentagon much easier to turn

The first one I bought a while back was the black QJ version with tiles. This one was just OK until I spent a few hours sanding the corners on every piece. After a good lube on that one it spins and turns incredibly smooth but if you force it a little too much it will fly into pieces.
I have the Dayan guhong 3x3 cube. This megaminx matches it in quality. It spins very well out of the box but will require some adjustment and lube to be super slick. For some reason I enjoy the turning spring sound in the Dayan cubes (maybe that's why I haven't loosened it yet).
Overall I believe this is the best out-of-box megaminx you can buy. My friend also bought one (from overseas) that came over-lubed. She spent a while cleaning it up and adjusting it and that thing moves like an angel. It easily matches my modified QJ in speed without the risk of coming apart. Plus the edged corners are very helpful. :)

This megaminx is a great megaminx to solve after 100-150 solves. Out of the box its very rigid and actually kinda hurts your fingers for a few solves (due to the ridges). If you are the type that likes to lube up your cubes and such before solving, you probably won't have an issue. I haven't gotten into lubing any of my cubes as I am just a recreational puzzle solver so I loosen my cubes/puzzles by solving them over and over again.
Once loose, the ridges and the materials used in this puzzle make for a pleasant solving experience and moves fairly fast. It's my favorite stickerless so far but I haven't tried the stickerless MoYu yet (only the stickered).
I have had 0 popping issues with the puzzle and the pieces do have some corner cutting ability for you speed solvers. Attached is a video so you can see how some of the cube moves after about 300 solves.

Broke as soon as we took it out of the box. The screws and springs kept popping off and parts kept falling off because of it.Published 18 days ago by Kevin Eldridge
