About the Author
Mary Ann McCann is an educator who endured both an at-home as well as extended hospital bedrest. She resides in Minnesota with her husband, Kelly, and her two sons, William John and Colin James. In addition to attending full-time to the needs of her two boys, Mary Ann is also a volunteer at school, her church, and with the Bedrest Connection. McCanns husband also contributed a chapter to Days In Waiting on ways men can be helpful to their partners while also taking care of themselves.
Marissa Brooks, MS, PT
Marissa Brooks has a BS in Biological Sciences from Stanford University and a MS in Physical Therapy from the University of the Pacific. Brooks is a licensed Physical Therapist, practicing in the acute care and orthopedic settings, and a pre/postnatal group exercise instructor. Brooks gained her OB/GYN physical therapy experience overseas in Scotland and in the U.S. from Elizabeth Noble, PT. She is the founder and creator of the "Bouncing Back with Baby" mom and baby programs and instructor training seminars. She authored Bouncing Back with Baby: An Exercise Guide for Moms and Babies. Brooks lives in North Carolina with her husband and two daughters. In her spare time, she plays with her family, volunteers at her daughter's preschool, volunteers at Friendship Trays, and sings in her Temple's choir.
