My family occasionally played board games -- Trivial Pursuit, Monopoly, Battleship, Trouble, Parcheesi, and so on -- but we never really had a tradition of doing so. Maybe once or twice a year, on a holiday, we'd pull a few games out, and play, and then put them away until the next special occasion.

So the fact that we play Ticket to Ride every so often, just for kicks, is a testament to its accessibility and ease of play. My wife and I have a boy and a girl tween, so it's not easy to find a simple game that interests all four of us. We can get a four- or five-player game going within minutes, and this will keep us plotting and jockeying for a few hours at a stretch. We bought the Europe version, as well as the 1912 expansion as well.

Ordered for my sons birthday, opened it up today to play and the board is damaged. Before we even take it out of the box the game is already falling apart. Very disappointed...

We actually just opened this game up and realized we received two bags of black trains instead of one black and one blue. -.-

We have had so much fun with this at our game nights. We've played it with our youth (as low as age 12) and our adult friends. Everyone has enjoyed it!!

Love this game, and my 6 and 8 year old boys like it as well.

Pros:
Easy to learn
Great replay value
Family friendly
Can be played by 2 people

Cons:
Small cards are difficult to shuffle - expansion packs solve this issue

Verdict:
This game has won over the whole family. It can be as competitive as you'd like or as laid back as Uno. There are few strategy style board games that can be played in 30 mins that are this much fun.

This game is quite fun. My friends and I are in our early 20s and we enjoyed playing this game. I have also played with my little sister as well, who was 8 at the time, and she enjoyed it as well. All the pieces were included and it is a really easy game to pick up.
