Greg Meng graduated from Oklahoma City University in 1979 with a degree in music, and went on to UCLA's School of Film & Television where he discovered his passion for television, entertainment and production.
Soon after leaving UCLA, Greg was accepted into the highly sought after NBC Page Program, launching his career in entertainment. After years at NBC, he was introduced to Days of our Lives and the Corday family. A trailblazer and visionary, Meng has now been Executive in Charge of Production at Days of our Lives for over 14 years, and additionally took on the role of Co-Executive Producer in 2011.
Along with his lasting endeavors in production, Greg has recently added best-selling author to his resume having penned the wildly successful Days of our Lives 45 Years: A Celebration in Photos. The coffee table book that was met with rave reviews is a collection of 45 years of Days history that provides a behind-the-scenes look into NBC's longest running scripted series. While promoting his first book, Greg was able to get a firsthand look at the great extent to which the Days family of fans look to their favorite cast for inspiration. This experience motivated Greg to author his second and much anticipated book, Days of our Lives: Better Living which features cast secrets to better and more balanced living as well as over 300 pages of behind-the-scenes, exclusive images. The wellness book is set to release September 2013.

This excellent coffee table style photo book gives a visual history of Days of Our Lives from its first 50 years. There are brief descriptions of some its more popular storylines like Marlena's possession, the Salem Stalker, and the CT Scanner song and dance fundraiser.

Past cast members like Gloria Loring (Liz Chandler) are features along with newer cast members.

One of the last photos is almost an inside joke to viewers who remember a hilarious episode. The photo features the gorgeous Horton women eating Alice's famous donuts in the living room. There is a sappy quote from Julie on love, tradition, and memories. Across the page is a photo of JJ headed up the stairs with a platter of donuts turned slyly to the camera. In this episode, he made donuts with marijuana and it got switched! Julie, Maggie, Hope, Jennifer, and all the rest got stoned out of their minds while JJ and his teenage friends felt nothing with the regular donuts. There is not a description of that in the book, but it's a nice wink to the fans that are current daily viewers.

Looking at the old photos makes me want to watch old episodes. I wish they would put out DVDs with episodes centered on certain storylines, like the Salem Slasher, or super couples like Roman & Marlena, or greatest episodes of the 1990s. That would be a perfect way to enjoy the Days of Our Lives!

Love my book !! Worth the price great pictures and the stories are the best.Love seeing the fine detail of the book.I have watched days for over 50 years and this is my first book. I feel like I'm part of this family and seeing Tom and Alice is such a true treasure a long with other actresses and actors that have passed is great.And seeing the ones that are older now at a much younger age is fantastic.And many have left that are in the book.I got my copy early and am very pleased with it.My husband got it for me for our 9th Anniversary.I wanted to go to the Days book signing in NY it was your ticket in if you bought the book and you could get it sign by some of the actors and actresses but i have medical problems and no spleen do to cancer. So that was a no lol.But I'm happy with my book.You won't be disappointed if you get the book if your a true days fan like i am..

When ordered this book I wasn't sure that they could encompass 50 years in one book. Boy was I wrong. It has the super couples and all of the main plots that has happened in the last 50 years. I love how when I looked through the book I was immediately transported back to when I was younger watching Days with my Granny. This has become my favorite book and I have over 2,000 books. If you're a Days of Our Lives fan then you need this book. It has the different weddings with Marlena and Roman's famous vows about love, it shows Bo with Carly and their Aztec wedding. It's the best book for a fan that there is. I highly recommend buying this book for the DOOL fan in your life.

I have been watching this show since the early 80's and it is awesome to see and read all of this history of the characters and town I have grown to know and love, and to relive the storylines. I wish I could get a book like this for Guiding Light, All My Children, and As The World Turns!
