You have to have patience to install this but it is pretty straight forward. Rolled up it looks one way, however, once installed you can see that it is too sheer to even be remotely used as a privacy film. It is more of a very light tint for your windows.
I just used a little piece of the roll to put over the diamond shaped window pane on the side-door of the house so people would have a harder time seeing in. To be frank with you, it was hard to tell which side was supposed to go in and which was supposed to go out. It didn't really decrease the visibility as much as I wanted but an upgrade IS an upgrade.
This product is labeled as "Static Non-Adhesive", but don't believe it. It has an adhesive backing. I've not used that, since I don't want to garbage up my window with adhesive which will be difficult to remove when the time comes to take off the film for one reason or another; plus it's a pain to install such film without introducing air bubbles. I've attached it with scotch tape, so I can easily remove and reattach. I use it to avoid scaring the birds at nearby bird feeders; they can't see through the film, but I can see them OK.
I ordered this thinking it would be good for a window in my apartment door. So I could see who was at my door but they would not be able to see me. It is easy to install but the people outside the door could still see in. So not good for privacy feature. I also ordered the dark tint film. They can't see in. I can't see out. So that's what's on my door window. SQ
The film was somewhat easy to install; however, our main purpose was privacy, and people can see inside without a problem. If you want to reduce heat, this might work, but don't buy it if you don't want people to see in your office or home.
