I clean it after each use, and the majority of people complaining about it breaking are the same people that never clean or take care of it. Do regular maintence and cleanings and it will hold up as long as you need it to. Great little machine for the price.
regarding the frother, so far it worked well.
Only used this for espresso so far and we've been using it a few weeks. I was super hesitant based on the other reviews and put off buying it for months but finally decided to when my schedule changed to earlier hours. I'm glad I did as it has been a literal lifesaver. We have not experienced any leaks or problems whatsoever. The espresso water tank comes out, nifty little handle too, and we only fill it up about halfway each time. There is a massively deep drip tray though, I have no idea how it fills up so fast, but possibly leaks can be attributed to that overflowing OR the tank not being removed to fill. Super simple and easy to use, even the frother works well (works great for fake creamer too). Only thing I would wish is for the price, the least they could do was include an espresso carafe- but we bought one separately.
**Edit- Tried the regular coffee side and it's honestly the best cup of coffee I've ever had. 2 heaping scoops of whatever coffee for a half a pot. Our most recent machine was the Ninja CM305 hot and iced maker and that was an expensive disappointment, partially why I was hesitant here. But we love it and I'm upset with myself for not buying this sooner.

I waited a month before reviewing this because I wanted time to use it and really evaluate more than just my first latte. Here is what I found.
1). If you read the directions EXACTLY you will be better off than rushing to make your first latte.
2). I compared the machine using pods as well as ground espresso and the ground simply provides better flavor. That being said- if ease and mess control is a big issue for you, use the pods BUT wet them first, then insert, then brew.
3. The frothier works best if it is very hot steam coming out. To do this, wait few minutes after the machine gets hot enough to open the steamer prior to opening it. It will froth better and faster.
4) CLEANING: Several people complained that the frother stopped working. As soon as your milk is frothed, immediately have a cup of water to immerse the frother in. Open the frother for about 10 seconds to spit out any retained milk on the inside of the frother. This will do wonders for the maintenance of this mechanism.
Also, immediately remove the espresso grounds, allow to cool completely. Discard grounds, rinse receptacle and return it to its place.
FLAVOR: What you drink when you order from your favorite Barista is actually a double shot- even though it is sold as a single. Make sure you make your drink using a double shot of excellent quality espresso grounds in the double receptacle ( the machine comes with both a single and double receptacle). You will be amazed at what a difference it makes!
Summary:
This machine is well made and beautiful but it requires time to learn it and care in cleaning. It is worth it to me to enjoy my favorite drink at home. If it is worth it to you- with the above suggestions, you will enjoy a delicious brew every time!

I wanted something that could give me both of everything! I wanted drip coffee, I wanted an espresso machine, I wanted milk frother/wand. I already have a LOT of appliances and I don't want to clutter my counter-top with 17 coffee machines.
GOOD: Space-saving, coffee is good, espresso is good., milk frothing works, love the alarm coffee machine. Coffee ready for early morning flights!
ODD: Two water tanks, the drip coffee gets a charcoal filter but the espresso doesn't,
BAD: Espresso crema is nice but my Cuisinart EM-100c espresso machine was better overall and was working perfectly even after 5 years... still working - i gave it to a friend when I replaced it with the delonghi. The milk wand is TOO SHORT, makes it awkward to froth.
MORE BAD: After 18 months, the drip machine gave up ! Does nothing. The espresso still works but... I WANTED TWO MACHINES TO WORK.
I bought the extended warranty through AMAZON and whoever this company is... I'm not impressed with them at the moment. SO I bought this machine at in April '18 at $370 , it is currently $220, the lowest price I've ever seen.
The extended warranty insurance company is SNAIL-MAILING me a Waybill to SHIP the broken machine to a repair shop so they can assess if it's fixable, IF IT ISN"T then they will be sending me a cheque for the original price I paid for.
I'm pretty sure the cost of repair check and shipping is more than the value of the machine. SO now I'm trying to decide if I should buy a new coffee machine, a new COMBO machine, or just buy my old espresso machine I used to have and a cheapo drip coffee machine.
TL;DR: when it works, it's great but there's a high chance it will break.

Works great! I’ve used many commercial machines, being a bartender, and this one holds up just great.
Easy to operate, easy to clean. Froths wonderfully.
I read other reviews and was hesitant, but I’m glad I ignored them.
If you want a machine that does exactly what it says, without breaking the bank.. this is for you.
Tip- if you don’t already know- your milk/cream/almond milk.. whatever you’re using, has to be COLD. And you need to have a super cold cup to froth with. I’m using a copper Moscow mule cup that I keep in the freezer. Let the frother spit out all the water when you first use it before holding the milk to the spout. And it shouldn’t be noisy. If you can’t hold a conversation over the frothing, you’re doing it wrong. I hope this helps!
ONLY ‘con’ is that guy have to manually shut off the espresso drip. Which is a little annoying. Other than that, it’s amazing.

I have never used an espresso or cappuccino maker before, but assembly and basic setup was very simple using the included instructions, which are written instructions paired with diagrams, and this made it easy to understand. The machine comes with everything you need, including a permanent (reusable) drip filter, a one cup and a two cup espresso filter, and a combination measuring spoon/tamper for pressing the grounds in the filter.
Using it as a basic drip coffee maker is simple, but has some neat tweaks that I like. For instance, the reservoir for the water is located behind the carafe, which initially had me wondering how to fill it, since the small space near the filter clearly wasn't big enough to hold 10 cups of water. Looking at the instructions told me to fill it from there anyway, so I went ahead cautiously, and found that the space has a fill tube connected to the reservoir at the hinge, so it flows directly in. This is a pretty cool idea I've never seen before, and it makes it easy to fill even in a space with counters above, since you only need access from the front. Following the instructions to run two pots of water through the machine before making actual coffee, I then used the included measuring spoon to make a small 4 cup pot utilizing the "1-4" cups feature, which is supposed to make your coffee more flavorful by "steeping" the water IN the filter with the coffee grounds. It definitely made a stronger and richer coffee than my regular cheapo coffee maker using this method. It takes a bit longer than the standard brewing, so I think this is a great option if you like a strong cup of coffee before you leave for work, because you can use this feature in tandem with the auto timer setting, so you can get up in the morning and have 1-4 cups of strong flavorful coffee waiting for you. Just be aware, as you can see from the attached picture, the estimation of cups as shown on the carafe is a bit on the small side, because I filled with "3 cups" as indicated on the carafe, and it filled one of my (bigger than usual but not HUGE, I think 10oz.) cups. When I made a full pot by the regular method afterward, I found that the result was less flavorful, so this is another neat feature I have never seen before which works perfectly!
Having never made a cappuccino or espresso before, it was a bit of a learning curve understanding how it works. The instructions were agina very helpful, because without them I would have been at a loss.I am not the best judge of what's a good espresso or cappuccino (because I have never tried either until today!), but I was happy with the result. I used some pre-ground espresso grind coffee I found at my local supermarket, I'll try again later with a higher quality home-ground coffee.
Overall, I think this is a very nice machine, and the features, build quality, and utility make it worth the price. I have always heard a lot about the quality of DeLonghi coffee machines, and now I know what the fuss is about. I feel like I can certainly recommend this machine with no hesitation.

We have had no issues arise with any part of this unit, its been working flawlessly. I was concerned after reading some of the reviews, and so far I have no complaints. It performs as expected, its simple and easy to use. Takes up minimal space, like any other regular coffee machine in my opinion. As for the noise level, no louder then any other espresso maker we've ever used when using that function on them. As for your milk, I would suggest warming it in the microwave first, before frothing. It helps.
Its keeping us happy here, that means everything to us.
