Great drinks but unreliable, and horrible customer service.

I was absolutely IN LOVE with this machine for amount a solid month of daily use. I was in latte, macchiato, espresso heaven. Everything that the machine made was spot-on delicious. At that point, the machine suddenly stopped frothing milk properly. Now, I know what you're thinking: I hadn't been maintaining/cleaning the machine properly. On the contrary, I was meticulous about daily cleaning routines, and followed all of the recommended routine maintenance. When it got to the point where the milk would deflate within a minute, despite all of my efforts (changing milk brands, temperature, fat percentage, cleaning every possible thing i could get my hands on and then some) I reached out to Delonghi, and they sent me a replacement milk carafe lid. When that didn't fix the problem, they told me that the machine would need to be sent to a repair shop (in CT) to get looked at. At this point, my machine had been out of milk-frothing condition for about 3 weeks, and they were telling me that it would take at least three more weeks to get the machine looked at and repaired. They told me that they could NOT issue a replacement without it being looked at first. Considering the cost of the machine, this was absolutely unacceptable in my eyes. I'm actually still waiting to get the machine back, because it looks like it was delivered to the wrong repair shop (Delonghi printed the wrong address on the return package they sent to me). Such a disappointment... It really was so nice while it lasted...Also I should mention that the company that actually sold the machine on Amazon was FANTASTIC. No complains there!

I bought this coffee machine in hopes that I could make Starbucks quality coffee beverages without paying a premium price daily. After a few weeks of trial and error I can honestly say that I love this coffee maker. It has all the bells and whistles and allows me and my family to enjoy delicious hot chocolate, cappuccinos and lattes on a daily basis. Customer service was amazing when I contacted them and they were fast and efficient in helping me answer all my questions..

Have been using ours for about a month. about six drinks per day. So far, awesome drinks. The milk container has to be aligned "just so" to work for frothing, but that's not a major issue. Faster than our old DeLonghi (we also have a magnifica), and looks sharper on the counter. No complaints so far.

Save your money. I had a DeLonghi ESAM3300 Magnifica for several years and wanted to upgrade. I bought this machine to make it easier for my wife to maker her favorite coffee drink. She does not like to steam the milk. This is a fine machine except for one major problem. It is not capable of making a warm let alone hot milk based drink. The maximum temperature that i can get the milk to is 110 Degrees F. There is suppose to be a "fix" for this that is only available in Europe or Australia, and DeLonghi will not ship it to the US. IT is a grommet of some type that slows down the milk flow thus creating a hotter milk. At this price, to have no control over the milk temperature is not acceptable. BTW even with the coffee temperature set to max, a latte only gets to 115-120 degrees.
You do have the option to manually steam milk, but if you are going to do that, you might as well save the money and get the ESAM3300 for a fraction of the price.

The hot chocolate maker does not make a delicious product, so do not buy just for that feature

We are in the market for a high-end, fully automatic espresso machine, and we really liked the description of this Delonghi machine. We brought coffee, milk and chocolate powder to a local store that had one on display. The programming features, the screen, and the convenience were all terrific. The grinder worked well, and we liked how the spent coffee grounds were automatically ejected. But the hot chocolate maker was poor. To get the milk hot enough, too much steam was injected, and the hot chocolate was watery and insipid. We wanted to make cafe mocha with this machine, but it did not make a delicious product. Also, the hot chocolate does not really have foam, so you are better off steaming milk directly and adding your chocolate to the espresso shot. The chocolate feature is what sets this machine apart and makes it more expensive, but it does not work well. We decided not to purchase this.
