DeLonghi has a well-deserved reputation for these oil-filled heaters. My previous one finally gave up the ghost after twenty years, and so I decided to get a replacement from the same brand. This is a "no-frills" model, which suits me right down to the ground. I really cannot imagine why anyone would need a remote control for a space heater, and while a timer might be useful on those cold winter mornings when you might prefer a little heat in the room before getting out of a nice warm bed, it is something I have done without on the earlier model, and can do without now. My older model had a supplemental radiant-heating element for heating up the room faster (at the cost of a higher electricity bill), which this model lacks. Since I scarcely ever used that feature, I won't miss it, either. One disadvantage of this newer model in comparison with the old one are the four casters, which are quite small and make it difficult to maneuver the unit, especially on carpeted surfaces. The older model had two much larger wheels instead, which made moving it much easier. Still, the price was right, and if it lasts half as long as the old one did, I will be entirely satisfied.

The heat in my house died this past Feb (2013), and at the time I couldn't afford to buy a new whole-house unit.
I chose to warm just my bedroom (and adjoining office), and this unit did the trick, *quietly*, efficiently, and at low cost.

A friend loaned me a little "ceramic" heater - and it worked fine, but it's cycling on and off would wake me up as the fan would speed up and make noise.

This unit is quiet, and I immediately put the noisy ones away (though, they do better for "directional" heat, such as at your feet, when sitting at a desk).

I'm actually looking forward to winter and reducing costs by once again, using just this unit to heat the two rooms.
Ensure that you roll towels against the bottom of the door to help keep the heat in. You'll notice the difference, when the rest of the house is 40 degrees, and your room is a cozy 65 (I didn't have it on high, so I don't know how warm it would have gotten).

I'm very pleased with the unit, and would buy it again if needed.

We decided to completely move off of our propane central heating as it was draining us financially every winter. We run our wood stove non-stop, but still have the furnace kick on early in the morning as the temps outside drop overnight. With these in the back bedrooms, the whole house is warm all night and the bill didn't go up much at all. With the convection these set up, I think more of the warmth from the wood stove is pulled into the rooms as well, which helps. Wife and kids are happy, that's enough for me.

Great Customer Service, but smelly heater

Five stars for the customer service, but I don't like the product yet. After I put it on full heat and temperature outside for 8 hours, I tried it inside that night. It made a burning paint smell that gave me a headache the next morning. I thought it was defective, so I called the company and they sent me another with no hassle. A+ for customer service. I put it outside on full heat for a total of about 20 hours, and it still had a burning paint smell when used. Maybe the smell will go away after plenty of time, but I'm giving up on it. I also tried a microthermic heater and a ceramic one, and they gave me headaches also, so maybe I'm just really sensitive to chemicals. When I use the gas wall heater, it doesn't give off that smell or give me headaches like the others.

I needed 2 to warm up 2 rooms at either end of my apartment. Especially with the cost of electricity here in Orleans parish, this heater is way more efficient the central heating. My mother has one too. She turned me on to the heater. It has its own thing to wrap the cord around so you don't trip on it. The design is great- it is easy to place anywhere you want without tripping over it. Easy to adjust the temp and heats up a large room well without being over heated or cold. It's just right.

great little heater. Only had I'd for two weeks or so but outside temp was 43 and my house is like 85 yrs old w/o insulation. I set it on low (600) watts on 2 when I leave at night and I come home and its about 60-62 and the area is about 700 sq. feet so it works great. Built in casters and has anti freeze setting so you can set it and if temp drops below 44 it kicks on. Overheat protection and builtin casters......for $50.00.

TIred of paying $400+ on nat gas to heat my home as my electric is much cheaper so I'll update after my next electric bill, but warms pretty well and seems solid.

Well, I ordered 6 of these heaters to donate to Best Friends Animal Society. It was on their wishlist, and they must love these heaters since they asked for 10 of them, and has been using them for awhile. The price here is excellent comparing to elsewhere. The product was shipped and arrived on time. Since I don't have first hand experience with these heaters... I can only highly recommend this seller.

I purchased two of these (according to Amazon) even though im 100% sure i only ordered one. Anyway, I printed the return label for one and set the other one up in my bedroom. It heated the room so impressively over night I decided to keep the other one and buy a third for another room. Unfortunately when I opened the box for the second one it was damaged. Not sure if its UPS's fault because the outside of the box appears to be intact but the dent in the second unit is pretty severe. I've had bad luck with large items shipped from Amazon via UPS. Amazon always does the right thing and stands behind their products and service but getting large items back to them is a huge hassel. And to top it off of course now they are out of stock so I cant even get another one.

Anyway, the heater is awesome, get one when they are back in stock.
