Purchased this as a 2nd bat. Went with a little lighter bat than the other one the team has. This bat seems to have better pop and carries a bit further than the older bat (Miken Freak). No bat will make you a home run hitter, but for those that can hit properly this bat will do the trick to be able to drive the ball and even hit them out. We play in a no homerun league so that isn't the priority. I think for the price I paid on Amazon it is hard to go wrong. BTW, I paid about $96. This is a true double wall bat made of aluminum and synthetic on the handle. I'll update for how it lasts through the season. Overall in a world where there are many $200+ bats on the market I am very pleased at $100

There have been a few poor reviews of this bat. I am a pretty darn good hitter, power to all fields, as well as being able to hit base hits. If you play in a league using a .44 Core ball, and use it above 65 degrees, you are unlikely to dent this bat in short time. This bat was ALIVE out of the wrapper, and I am extremely happy with this bat. I also bought the 28 ounce I was so happy with it.

If you are looking for a nice light weight slow pitch bat - this is a great choice. The bat is very smooth - seems well balanced. It has a nice big sweet spot. Now - don't think it will turn you into a home run king / queen - but if you need that extra little help getting on base - this is a good choice. Don't you just laugh at those people that say - I bought this bat and now I hit home runs. YEAH RIGHT! lol

DeMarini is a quality softball bat manufacturer and the F5 reflects that. I've owned a few older DeMarini models in the past and the F5 is of similar if not better quality. Combine that with Amazon's low pricing and this bat is an excellent deal.

First Demarini I've owned. First game it was awesome. It has not been used in BP and only in game type situations. After first game, multiple dents and creases in the bat. Used 44 375 softballs. Definitely disappointed in the longevity of the bat. COntacted Demarini and all they said was that if it passed the "ring" test it was still "legal" and would be sent back. There's a big difference in 'legal" and 'useful". I hope Demarini steps up on this one.

Sent the bat back to Demarini, they sent me a brand new one.... Great customer service....

I've been swinging an F-2 (actually several) for the last few years. I liked the F-2 for it's huge sweet spot and good pop. My F-2s eventually gave in to the abuse (mostly BP and other sluggers borrowing them) and became too dented to use. Enter the F-5. Not as large of a sweet spot as the F2 but nicely balanced, good pop and good ball control when hitting off the barrel.

I had a similar experience to ufounddave. I used the bat for two practices, and while it lasted it was the best bat I've ever hit. This bat has remarkable pop. Even better than my all-composite Easton Synergy. But after two practices, it's got one whole side that is flat, and some other significant dents around the barrel. It only hit a total of maybe 100 pitches, and I'm not a huge guy (6'1", 190 lbs). It would seem that Demarini made too big of a trade-off with the wall thickness. I would recommend other shoppers away from this bat, unless you want to buy several to last you through a season.

Love this bat. So does everyone on my team. In fact, it's been so popular that folks pitched in to buy another bat to get us through the season. Does that mean...I can rest mine...hee hee.

Anyways...for the price...and the extra pop...it's totally worth it. 5 Stars for sure!!
