I loved the story line and cudos to the author for being so good at holding the audience! At the snap of your fingers she turns the tale a twist and adds a new character. At the same snap of the fingers, she has you hungry for the next page to see if where you think she is going is indeed where you find her. The characters are strong, well established and defined so as not to need further explanation further in. This allows her to keep the story line fluid and continual, page after page. Thank heavens there is no repetition used to fill the pages. This book will catch your interst from page one and keep you snagged through the last page. It ends acceptionally well and yet you wish it wasn't over. So... the remedy would be either a sequel or another mystery ASAP. While there were indeed a few grammatic errors, I would guess they are more synonyms plugged in with the use of spell check as the story is being either proofed or written. It in no way distracts from the interst in the book. As far as the police being stupid.... hey, I know a few "Fife's", and there are those cops who think they are above the law but in this book, the Police are paid well to be "dumb". As for the Cop who thinks things are amiss, he is brushed off and ignored, easily so. Just read the book.... you won't regret it!!!!

Not a bad story. I neither liked it as well as the 5 star reviewers, nor disliked it. I found no errors that were distracting. I liked the way it solved old and new mysteries, and I liked the ending. I also liked that I didn't know who did it until the very end, I can usually guess. This would have been 4 stars if the format wasn't so "chunky". Long blocks of words slow down how fast I can read, and this could have been an easier read. The story was still quite good, and if you like mysteries, you will enjoy this. RE: the reviewer that doesn't believe the police could/would be that stupid...seriously?? Besides, I never saw the police as simply incompetent. They were delibrately being political, and a lot changed as the author explored the currant police investigations. I was very satisfied with how that aspect played out.

I could hardly make it thru this book. Tons of grammer errors and I felt just plain stupidity (hard to believe police are so stupid!!!)

When you have a perhaps-innocent man in prison, murderers and their victims (and their families), two kidnapped or killed children, one baby left in his crib, all of the people in three generations of two different families, another murder with buried bodies, our heroine and her husband, a number of different police officers and investigators, and a judge, things get confusing! I was having trouble keeping up with all of the relationships and their time-lines over decades--there are just too many characters, plots and sub-plots in only about 220 pages. Add in a healthy dose of grammar/spelling errors, and, while this has an interesting, if convoluted, story, it definitely also needs a good (professional) editor.

Thirty years after Jeremy's parents are murdered, he thinks he has found his missing sister. After hiring a PI to prove it, he has opened a whole can of worms.

Other than some typos and some confusion with characters, this book read like a true crime. It could have been plucked from the headlines of today. It has all the ingredients of a good read; money, ambition, greed and power. Good read.

I enjoyed this book. I liked the way it solved some old murders as well as the new murders, I liked that there were several possibilities and I didn't know for sure who did it until the very end. Would read others by this author.

I found this to be an interesting read, however, I was constantly confused by the sheer number of characters in this book. I was trying so hard to remember who begat who, that I lost the storyline.

I thought the characters got confusing. The situations criss-crossed too many times for me. I would still read more from this author
