Private Investigator Lacey Summers is struggling to make herchoice of a career an appropriate one, for a woman. Clara Carter is found deadin her bed of carbon monoxide poisoning and her husband Sam is the primesuspect. Sam hires Lacey to prove his innocence. Was it murder, or possiblysuicide? Lacey is determined to find the truth. Along the way she finds outeven more than she bargained for.
Dead in Bed is fairly well written. There are severalinconsistencies that do take away from the plot. The story is a simple mysteryand is easy to follow. I found this book somewhat predictable with a simplisticplot and dialogue a little forced. The book could use a little more developmentand a thorough professional editing to remove some redundant phrases and otherquite noticeable errors. I also feel the "romance" section of thebook is not needed, it didn't add to the plot line and I considered it more ofa distraction. With a good editing and some rewriting this could be a very good"cozy" mystery. Review from Manic Reader
