From the Author
Q. Where did the idea for this book come from?
A. The scheme that the main characters participate inis based on a true story. Years ago I met a man who took part in the sametype of endeavor. He was fortunate enough to live through it. I always wonderedwhy he did what he did and how he felt when his was the last name on thelist.
Q. What was the hardest part of writing this book?
A. Getting the facts right! I wanted the policeterminology and procedural action to be accurate. I was fortunate to haveseveral police personnel assist with fact-checking. These folks put hours intomaking sure the scenes were written correctly. I'm very lucky to have had theirassistance.
Q. What draws you to this genre?
A. I'm a fan. I love Henning Mankell, Stuart MacBride, and of course Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes. I've known the story of "The DeadList" for many years. After several failed attempts to put it on paper Idecided to listen to my characters and let them tell their own story. I'm veryglad that I did.
