It has been fascinating to watch Echo’s journey as she matures from a young lady happy to stay safe and secure in the Hive longing for a love that cannot be to the strong, fierce, independent young woman with powerful, sexy, determined men who will stand by her side. She has grown by many trials of fire and has come out stronger, more confident and determined to stand up and fight. Fight for the truth, to help correct the wrongs from their past, for her family and friends, for herself, and their very survival.
Many revelations come to light in this exciting third installment and it is non-stop action and excitement from beginning to end. Truths are revealed, relationships develop and change, new adversaries emerge, past secrets are exposed, betrayals are delivered, and emotional turmoil rolls in waves throughout the entire story. There are also some laughs to be had and snarky banter to enjoy. This book is, by far, the best of the series yet. I am really curious to see what direction Cassidy will take the story next. Some serious blows have been dealt in this book and Echo, as well as her men and the rest of the Hive, will have to band together in order to face the direness of their situation and the possible extinction of them all. Dead Sea is another great addition to the series and I am sooo ready for the next!
*I received an advanced copy of this book and I am voluntarily providing my honest review. All thoughts and opinions expressed are solely my own.
Okay so, now Echo is queen of the sea I guess since Rydian saved her by giving her the ring.
She has his power, but will he be in her harem? Probably so. I kinda like Rydian... in my head I am thinking Jason Momoa Aquaman, lol. So of course! Also, why did his eyes affect her once but then not again? Was it the runes? I thought she had those then. Could be wrong.
Hunter was left in a bad situation at the end there. I am hoping if whatever it is catches him, he gets a body. He's already too the point where he doesn't want to be without Echo. Will that change if he gets a body and can go do whatever he wants? Probably not. Still think he's a potential for harem.
Emory and Gideon... aka Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. But yeah shower scene hotness galore. Yum. Definitely harem when since I think Echo is the catalyst to getting them to merge and share the "light."
Micha and Lyrian are definitely in I think. Lyrian though... something is up with him. I know he is all icy and whatever mostly, but why does he keep backing out. What is he scared of?
Finn just made alpha. Guess he has three mates already and I don't know if he will or should be in harem. He's got a role to play and I don't know if it's in Echo's bed, lol.
Deacon the betrayer of the starved ones... I still think he should be in the harem. He is gonna get over his skittishness and do more than kiss her to distract her when she's scared.
Harker is dead and that's going to mean things change. Echo wants all the secrets to stop and just tell the truth about everything.
Can’t say enough about Ms. Cassidy’s writing. Entwining a couple of her series together and bringing forth another book. Chronicles of Midnight, with Serenity, Bane, Orrin, and Ryker. Then Chronicles of Arcana with Willa and all her guys too! Where will Echo land in-between those two hard hitters? We’ll have to find out!
So if you can’t tell, I loved the book. This is book 3, so I hope you have read book 1 & 2.
Echo has grown quite a bit, gotten closer to her guys, finally accepting maybe she can be with more than one guy. But are there more?
Meanwhile, she’s off to the Sea Kingdom, with no clue what she’ll find there. With all the lies that are coming out about the Hive and Protectorate, she’s not sure she wants to find out!
Awesome, spectacular and more and more exciting!
