Goodness and Humanity prevail in the end!!
This series started out great. The first 4 books. Got kinda repetitive during Book 5. Book 6 definitely should have ended this series because the story was told. Adding new characters and new scenes only to drag out a couple of more books for the few readers that are still following to purchase is greedy and a discredit to the author's talent. What started out as a talented author with a bit of a different zombie story to tell devolved into the same ole same ole story that EVERY zombie writer eventually falls to. "Bad dudes vs. the core group." Same ole same ole. This is why this genre which became quite popular because of several apocalyptic tv shows, has lost a lot of its shine and is dying as sure as the zombies the authors write about.
What happened to the day when an author cared more about his finished work and less about, "can I squeeze one more book out of this story." The best zombie books I have read ran no more than 3 books long and most were standalone novels. With 8 books, this author killed his own artistry.
Skipping this one and Book 7. You would have missed nothing.
