This book can be read as a stand alone, but if you should really read The Awakening and Runaway first so you will have a full picture of how and why Andy and Laura are together.

When you read this writer's books, you don't want to put them down. She weaves a story that keeps you fully engaged, and a little sad when you reach the end. Just because you want more.

Andy and Laura at this point were in love and Andy was trying to protect his family from his mother by starting life in another state. You start out thinking that the HEA is finally coming, but, you get hit with little Gabe's issue, Laura's jealousy, the biological family issues, Laura's family issues. There is so much going on, it should make your head spin. This writer has the capability to weave these threads together like a fine tapestry.

I thoroughly enjoyed the 'Finding Love-The Outsider Series'. Book one in the Friessens series did not disappoint.

I love these Friessen men and their families. Was so excited the stories are going to keep on how going. Andy and Laura had a plate full with a sick child and moving to a new state along with twins. Andy has a strong personality and I appreciate him more after this book. What a man won't do for his family. Please read!

I found this book a great look at Laura and Andy's life together as a family. Andy is as overbearing as usual but Laura gets a chance to show what she is made of and she deals with some tough choices. I have to admit, I wasn't sure how Andy would handle the pressure. Both Laura and Andy made some tough decisions. While the book didn't focus on their newly wed bliss as much one might think, it did create a real story from beginning to end. Excellent twist of events from author Lorhainne Eckhart! I loved seeing Neil and Candy again as well! I can't wait to read more about Laura and Andy and their family.

The book had me intrigued, and was glad Laura found love but I did not like how her husband treated her, even though he loved her and the kid's to me he was an egotistical man that a woman's opinion didn't mean anything to him. He was like this throughout the whole book, sorry I don't like to read stories that put women down. I also found the ending rushed I would have like to know what became of the maternal grandparents did they form a relationship. After reading some reviews for book 2 that the cousin Niel also is a shovanistic pig I did not want to waist my money reading something that treats women like carp even though there is no physical abuse to me it's mental and emotional abuse.

I just finished The Deadline, the first in The Friessens: A New Beginning series, and loved it enough that I couldn't wait to share it. The emotional struggle was nothing like I expected. I have wanted to read the Friessen books for a while but could never find time until I won this on during a release party. The series and now moved to the top end of my TBR lists. While I found Andy a little overpowering, it fit his alpha personality perfectly. I loved watching Laura's growth and can't wait to see more of this couple.

When they moved to Montana to leave behind the band memories his mother had caused, they never expected to get into a fight for their sons life. A literal fight to defeat leukemia. The search for a bone marrow donor takes them back to the town where her parents kicked her out of the house for becoming pregnant at 15 and her "boyfriend" rejected her twice. Once she surrendered to him and again when she told him she was pregnant with his child and one her own.

As if worry for Gabriel and caring for their new born twins was not enough, the "father" of her child decides he wants to be a part of the little boys life. How much can a couple handle before the even have a chance to get their new house set up.

A copy was provided by the Netgalley for an honest review.

The Deadline is the first of the The Friessens: A New Beginning but is a continuation of Finding Love- The Outsider Series. If you are a nitpicker for the background of a couple start at the beginning.

THE OUTSIDER series:
The Forgotten Child (Brad & Emily)
A Baby And A Wedding (Bridge Short Story)
Fallen Hero (Andy, Jed & Diana)
The Search (Bridge Short Story)
The Awakening (Andy & Laura)
Secrets (Jed & Diana)
Runaway(Andy & Laura)
Overdue (Bridge Short Story)
The Unexpected Storm (Neil & Candy)
The Wedding (Neil & Candy)

THE FRIESSENS: A NEW BEGINNING:
The Deadline (Andy & Laura)
The Price to Love (Neil & Candy) *Coming June 2014

The Deadline is a very emotional book with a HEA. There are a lot of emotional topics addressed: a sick child, the return of the man who turned his back on his child, an estranged family being the only hope of saving a child. The romance was not a strong point in this book, more of a fiction book to me. While I enjoyed the tearjerker, there were a few things I did not like:
Andy takes strong overbearing alpha male from sexy to asphyxiating.
I really can’t stand weak heroines. Considering all that Laura has been through to keep and raise Gabriel, she should be more confident and stronger.
