Deadly Bayou centers around Susan Foret, an intensely strong and determined woman. When her husband’s death is ruled as a suicide, Susan starts her own investigation to prove he was murdered. Deadly Bayou starts and ends with high impact action.
The story takes place in a small town in South Louisiana. A.C. Mason does an amazing job of capturing the culture of the people without getting too carried away or cartoonish. The story unfolds mostly through character dialog, saving the reader from long and often tedious expositions.
Deadly Bayou is an old-fashioned crime drama. It’s about solving a crime and bringing criminals to justice. It is very straight forward with the action and the dialog. I’m giving Deadly Bayou 4 stars.
