Simone meets Liam and his grandmother Ellen at the resort and they invite her to join her for dinner. She is livid when she spots Elliot at the bar with another woman, Martha, the 20 year old step-daughter of her boss, a congresswoman. And the show is on. The two are separated by security guards and eventually are told to leave. A few hours later the police knock at her door and announce Elliot has been murdered and she's their prime suspect due to their public meltdown in the restaurant.
The book had lots of twists and turns and various people showing up that were hard to keep track of, and people who weren't as they seemed. The book was lighthearted suspense with a little romance tossed in courtesy of Liam.
I don't get the title of the book. I think it may have been a take on Don Ho's famous song but (spoiler alert!) no one died due to consuming wine that had been poisoned. In other words there was no deadly wine at all in the novel. The closest was when Simone was drinking champagne in her hotel room but nothing deadly happened.
Title aside, everything else about the novel was fun.
Unfortunately, this book didn’t actually end. Sure we caught the bad guys, but who ARE these people? It’s like there is half a book missing.
