Remender has yet another master peace. This comic follows the Marcus a homeless kid who finds himself in the underground school for assassins and like every school it has its clicks and Marcus finds himself his own. This comic holds deep character building and development and as the story goes on it seems like pages bleed together with the pacing that keeps getting faster. A great comic and I highly recommend.

The book came in excellent shape, pages are crisp and really show off the vibrancy of the art. The overall quality of the deluxe edition is fantastic, the story is excellent, we follow a young boy in the 80s who is taken in to a school of assassins, the juxtaposition of high school with heartless killers is a really great story beat and I highly recommend it.

This was a very quick read for me in a good way. I currently like this run for when I’m looking to read over the top violence that still has a solid story, plus I like 80’s punk rock so naturally I picked this up immediately after finding out Remender had written it. It takes place in mid to late 80’s with aspects of punk rock ,rap culture, an obligatory Russian bad guy, you get the picture. The characters are put to the test to see if they can really handle the assassin way of life but it also sort of feels like that movie Dazed and Confuzed but at a school for assassins rather than a regular high school. It’s a fun read that doesn’t take itself too seriously but does get serious at times. Awesome art and good price

There were a lot of complaints about Black Science Premiere Hardcover, volume 1. The binding makes it harder to read, causing it to be a little more fragile for those that are not careful.

This is not the case with Deadly Class. It is a beautifully printed oversized hardcover that feels durable. As a long time fan of Rick Remender, I was actually blown away by this series. I bought this book on a whim and was not disappointed -- I ordered Deluxe Volume 2 before finishing this one. It's a beautifully crafted story that is full of twists and turns. Wes Craig's artwork has an Adventure TIme kind of feel, but in a maniacal, adult kind of way. There is a lot going on from page to page, with writing and art that fuel each other.

If you have seen the TV series, but have not read the book -- don't worry. From what I have seen of the TV series, the book follows a different path. The story and characters feel different than what was shown on SyFy.

These books are incredibly worth owning and reading.

Rick Remender and Wes Craig's Deadly Class is a modern masterpiece. This book collects the first three arcs of the series, or the entirety of Freshman Year. If you enjoy well-done teen drama with heaps of violence and gorgeous art, you will love this book. Except unlike the real world, angst in Deadly Class is explosive and violent. Also, way too much fun.

I promised Rick I would read Deadly Class one day since Black Science and Low are just flat out phenomenal. From the first couple of pages of this book I just got sucked all in the way in. Marcus and his mind are enough to keep this book going. The visuals by Wes and the action are straight eye candy. The actual hardcover it self is amazing. Heavy, thick pages, binding is legit, and its freken pink.

I didn't know if I was going to like this, I honestly didn't think it was going to be one of my favourites from the haul I bought. But it is. I love the style. It gives me Persona 5 vibes. It's a big book. Let's you appreciate the art so much more. Definitely worth the price. Will be picking up 2, 3 & 4
