So about Deadly Obsession…Lauren is a single mom who is still trying to get over the loss of her husband years before. She is struggling to find her place in the world and start her career. She is strong and passionate, and she cares deeply for her friends and family. Nic is your seemingly typical playboy celebrity type. He likes to have fun and doesn't take life too seriously. Or at least that's what he lets people believe. Inside he is fighting to keep his life together and to put on the perfect face for the crowd. Both characters were realistic with real problems and emotions.
Overall I love Kristine Cayne's writing. She has a way with words, and her stories are sexy, fun, engaging. I am definitely looking forward to more from this series.
For me a 4 star is where I want to go out and buy the next book in the series and read it and a 5 star is OMG have to read it before I do anything else, and will sneak read on my kindle at work.
A 2 star is where I finished it but would never read anything by this author again.
This was a solid 3. I enjoyed the book enough that I would read others by this author, but do not feel a burning desire to race out and read it before others in my TBR pile.
This is not that mysterious, I had the stalker pegged in the first 3 scenes of the book, and I was positive by the time I got to the photo shoot who it was. I think it would have been a little more enjoyable it it would not have been that obvious. For me it just made the book seem a little long. I liked the characters. Did not fall in love with any of them. Again, for me this was ok. I paid .99 for it and I would have been good paying up 2.99 or so for it.
I will also say that I am a voracious reader and read 5-15 books a week depending on my time, so for me to love a book it has to be a stand out in the genre. I think this would have been a 4 if their would have been a surprise on the stalker, I honestly finished the book hoping to be surprised.
By the end of the first chapter, I was obsessing a bit about Nic (our hero) myself, not only over the gorgeous image Cayne conveyed to her readers, but by his character. Nic, though a sex-charged, high-powered movie star, had a great heart and was very easy to love. Our heroine, Lauren, was the typical down-to-earth single mom, but that didn't make her boring; it made her relatable. I immediately respected her...and felt a great deal of pity for her, having had to deal with Nic's agent, Vivian (an immediately detestable, snooty character - exactly how you'd imagine an agent to be).
By the time you get to the hottest-first-kiss-on-record, watch out! It was the starting gun at the beginning of chapter 2 that launched the book forward, and it didn't let up from there on out. The whodunit in the story seemed pretty clear at first but the fact that she wouldn't commit always left me wondering and looking for misdirection. (I won't tell you if I was right or not.) ;)
I thought the pacing of the book was great, and appropriate for the journey. I have to admit, though...I found myself skimming ahead only to have to pull myself back. However, that's a compliment to how involved in the story I really was - I had to see what happened next! (Impatience is a terrible thing.)
I definitely recommend this book to anyone who will listen! As a reader, Kristine Cayne took me for a fabulous ride. As a writer, she really opened my eyes to the talent surrounding me.
Great job, Kristine! Can't wait for the next book!
Deadly Obsession is listed as the first book of a series, but it stands well on its own. Contemporary, rich-guy-poor-girl romance with plenty of suspense. Recommended for mature readers.

The story is about Nic the actor, Lauren the single mom/photographer and a totally psycho stalker who will stop at nothing to get his/her man.Its an eye opener into what a crazy obsessed person is capable of and the lengths they would be willing to go to.
Its a Thriller, Romance, Mystery and full of steam rolled into one.
Deadly Obsession reels you in from the first chapter and although you can guess who the stalker might be, theres still a fraction of doubt that makes you ask is it or isnt it?
Deadly is one of those Must read/ Cant put down type of books.I even took my kindle to work just so i could read what happens in the next chapter.
Its brilliantly written and Krystine Cayne does an excellent job of drawing you into the story. If you like books by Jackie Collins etc youll like hers too.
A very good book in my opinion. Id recommend Deadly Obsession in a flash and its well deserving of 5*****

Jokes apart, plot was good, the story kept me interested, I did go ooh ahh in places, and I even cried at some point. I do like a female-baddie, and I think Kristine did a great job in the way she portrayed her.
Thank you Kristine for giving me Nic The Lover's telephone number in exchange for a five star review... I'm ever so grateful !
No, really, if you like the genre, you'll like the book :)
