Maybe next time Rob could write the story himself. I was just expecting more.
In a million years I will never understand why 'Deadpool' co-creator Rob Liefeld seems to get the lion's share of the credit for shaping Wade Wilson, over writer Fabian Nicieza, who literally put the words in the famous merc's mouth and, over several decades, made him what he is today--BETTER than he often is today, in fact. (Check out Nicieza's "Cable & Deadpool" run for the apex in Deadpool achievement as proof.) Nicieza has continued to evolve as a writer and is currently one of Marvel's most painfully underutilized assets, while nearly 25 years after X-Force, Liefeld apparently still can't draw feet.
This book hurt my soul.
**UPDATE** A user commented on this review and informed me that Rob Liefeld has confirmed he will be writing a follow up to this graphic novel, so it honestly bumped my review up from my original 4 star to a 5 star. Knowing that the ending will be expanded on makes this book so much better. A must grab for any true Deadpool fan
