Daniel Way's writing is nothing short of genius. He brings Deadpool to life with his unique blend of sarcasm, wit, and fourth-wall-breaking humor. The way he explores Wade Wilson's twisted psyche and inner turmoil while maintaining the character's irreverent charm is truly impressive. You'll find yourself laughing out loud at Deadpool's antics while also feeling a deeper connection to the character.
The artwork in this collection is top-notch. Various talented artists contribute to the pages, each bringing their own style to Deadpool's world. The visuals perfectly complement the chaotic and often absurd nature of the story. From epic battles to hilarious facial expressions, every panel is a treat for the eyes.
One of the standout features of this collection is the character development of Deadpool himself. As you delve into his adventures, you'll witness his evolution from a chaotic mercenary to a more complex and relatable anti-hero. It's a journey that keeps you engaged and invested in the character's growth.
Overall, "Deadpool by Daniel Way: The Complete Collection Vol. 1" is a wild ride that delivers on all fronts. It's a testament to the brilliance of Daniel Way's writing and the enduring appeal of Deadpool as a character. Whether you're a long-time fan or new to Deadpool's world, this collection is a must-read that will leave you eagerly anticipating the next volume. Grab a copy and get ready for a hilarious and action-packed adventure with the Merc with a Mouth!

P.S. Read Deadpool and Wolverine of you have no business being a comic fan
It was way cheaper to buy this book on Amazon as opposed to Barnes and Noble or an actual comic book store because those venues sell it by the original publication price of $34.99 which I thought was a bit much. It was also cheaper to buy this collection than to go out and buy all of the individual comic books from this series because those were about $14.99 each. You get all twelve comic books plus some extra comics from other series by the author for around $25. WORTH IT.

Like any comic book of superheroes, it's fast-paced. It has a straight-forward story, no need for big explanations. Like a good movie, this volume is full of twists and turns. Deadpool is shown going through a lot of things. You see him fight Wolverine hand-to-hand and using elaborate yet simple traps. Then, he makes everyone think he defects to the Skrulls. Then, he looks to get even with Osborn. The portrayal of the character is what I'm familiar with. The man is deranged. He hallucinates and has voices inside his head, but he also comes off as a planner in this, which has people think he's smarter than he sounds.
I was expecting fourth-wall breaks like Deadpool complaining about the writing, but there are still gags in the comics to make any reader laugh. I also expected the swears to not be censored, knowing that Deadpool is foul-mouthed. Then again, small detail. What sells this book and possibly others is the action and humour. Nary a dull moment.
