Lots of adventures. First DP takes on a planet eating planet. He decides a good way to die is making Hulk smash him beyond repair. Great idea but doesn't workout so good and causes A LOT of destruction. Then DP gets locked into a prison/asylum place in England. With a super strict and mean warden and crazed doctor that falls crazily in love with DP. He has to escape that place and England on a ship. Problem is this ship has many kidnapped girls he has to rescue. When he finally gets to the states there is an Evil Deadpool made up of all parts of him causing incredible trouble. While he fights him Capt. America joins fighting him not knowing there are 2 of him. All sorts of action and craziness.

He is the merc with the mouth. Not always a snappy one sometimes when it makes it that much funnier. I enjoy every page and there are a lot of hidden quotes and references from pop culture that many people could appreciate. I only maybe got a few of them but my buddy is eight years older than me, I let him read it, and was able to spot more because a lot of it is old school. Daniel Way did a fantastic job and was my first introduction to Deadpool. I will be looking into Deadpool Classic next to see how Wade was back in the day.

This one was good, but not as good as previous collections. The Hulk strory makes this a must buy for real deadpool fans but some of the other stories seem to drag on a bit, especially the mental ward. Still Danial way deadpool with most of the same artists is still awesome, I really liked this one but didn't love it like the first two collections. The space adventure's story and villian is great also, forgot that one.

Okay comic fans, I know that if you're really geeking up on this stuff, the Joe Kelly treatment is considered by most to be the definitive version of Deadpool. I DISAGREE.

The Daniel Way treatment is my favourite by far.

Personally, I like characters with wit and substance. Flawed individuals. -I'm tired of "perfect" superheroes who never fail, always look perfect and who's breath is probably always minty-fresh.

Daniel Way's Deadpool is "that other guy". By no means a glossy flawless shining paragon of hope and virtue. This character is deeply messed up. He's hilarious. He breaks the fourth wall. He has schizophrenic discourses with his own inner demons.

I was about halfway through the Joe Kelly material when these volumes arrived (just buy all four right now and get on with it) and since starting the Daniel Way editions It never even occurred to me to look back or even bother finishing the Kelly stuff. It's that good.

Die Deadpool Collection gefällt mir von den Comics die ich bisher vom Merc with a Mouth gelesen habe eindeutig am Besten, nicht nur wegen dem roten Faden der sich durch alle Geschichten und Bände zieht sondern vor allem wegen dem unvergleichlichen Humor. Gerade die inneren Dialoge mit sich selbst empfinde ich als sehr pointiert und gelungen. Volle Kaufempfehlung für alle die Deadpool im Original lesen wollen!
