I've noticed in these reviews of this film, that overwhelmingly men like it and women don't. It makes sense though. Men like action and over the top violence. In just about every man, there is still a 15 year old boy who likes stupid dick jokes; and they can't seem to get enough sex. Women see a lot of this as demeaning and horrifying. Women like romance and tender moments; and like men, they can't seem to get enough of these type of movies. This movie is a feel good movie for the folks that like this genre. There is a lot of profanity, but no more than I have heard from people when they think no one is watching/listening to them. It comes out of the mouths of everyone, including our role models. In our society, we learn profanity in grade school; if we do not learn it at home first.
While I like this movie, I would not like such action if they really happened. I would protect my wife and children from possibly traumatizing events. But, this is a movie. It's not real. In my professional life, I have seen a lot of violence. I participated in much of it but everything I did, was to save lives. I've told my share of crude jokes. I have probably seen too much to ever be who I was before, which is decidedly a very good thing.
Men, I just told you some of the things women want in the movies they watch. They want those things in life as well, and if you give them to her without grumbling about it, she just might hold on to you forever. As an old soldier, I can tell you that you need to hug your wife and children. Tell them you love them: Often. You will get a lot out of it too.
The only way to know if you will like this movie, is to watch it yourself. If you like this genre, you will like this movie. If you prefer something less brash, then you probably won't.
