It’s interesting the way Posehn and Duggan take this series of comics. In the previous 20-30 they had Wade Wilson developing from a goofball that did whatever he wanted to one with more and more responsibilities. In the first half of All Good Things the writers have him reverting back to his old M.O. and lollygagging around as he takes off with the Trapster to be a mercenary again. Pool eventually comes back to his family, but it’s included in an action scene.
The end is just a hodgepodge of stories thrown together but they do go out with a bang as Wade steals the Infinity Gauntlet from Thanos and gives himself a comedy roast that helps him figure out the meaning of his life.
Again, this was a weird twist to the Deadpool series. While he becomes a mercenary again, he does find his conscience and puts an end to things. His family eventually appears, but it’s more about protecting them than dealing with the responsibility of having one. Despite all that there is some awesome action in this collection, so while the more serious character development might have been held back a bit in these issues there’s plenty of smash and burn that people expect from a Deadpool comic.
