"Oh my GOD was this good! Not that I'm surprised--Elise Kova can't write a bad book. This has a Hades and Persephone feel to it, but it's not a retelling--and the world Elise has created! I seriously hope there are more books to explore the rest of it! SO GOOD!!"
- Laura Thalassa, Author of The Four Horsemen

From the Author
Married to Magic is not a traditional series, but a collection of stand alone novels set in the same world. There is no overarching plot connecting them. Every story is self contained and follows a different young woman taken to a magical land by a handsome man. Readers can begin with any book in the series and only read the books they're interested in without "missing out" on any storylines.

This novel had its profound moments where the writing was really great and I was able to make a connection with the story, but for the most part, it was just lazy writing (I’m so sorry Kova)
The amount of “info dumping” in the first few chapters and throughout the book was astonishing for an accomplished writer. Kova has the ability to create rich and magical worlds so I found the info dumping, aka “lazy writing” lackluster.
Also, what is with the Goody Two Shoes cookie cutter main character? And the brooding kind of a jerk, but then I guess he’s kind of nice love interest? I get it’s a “romance” novel but the characters could at least be more interesting and entertaining than trope cardboard cutouts.
I’m not sure if this is her first romance novel either but the sexy time just wasn’t that sexy. It had a YA feel about it. Honestly this book could be considered a YA romance novel, it just doesn’t make you blush or glance up hurriedly to make sure no one is catching you in the act of reading smut.
If you are looking for a light read, then you may like this book, I just prefer characters to have a little more depth and for the side characters to not feel like stand ins.
It was entertaining, kind of? The plot was decent but predictable. The world was complex yet executed poorly. I almost stopped reading it completely 3 times but carried on anyway because it was interesting enough. It just wasn’t good like Kova’s other books. If I hadn’t read her other series already, I honestly would have thought this to be her first time writing a novel.
I mean an agsty slow burn with an enemies to lovers and arranged marriage plot ? Literally sign me up.
The angst was good the tension was peak, the plot was average but for a stand alone high fantasy romance it was good enough. The characters other than the male and female leads were pretty much throw away, but again, what more can you expect with something like this.
It was good for what it was. I had fun reading it and it’s a pretty quick read. The ride is fun and the characters have pretty good personalities that you like them enough to care. I found myself wanting more with the side characters because of how interesting they were but I understand they’re not the center and the plot moved just fine without them.
If you’re bored and looking for a short satisfying read with a moderately strong female lead and a socially stunted male lead who gets a mr Darcy character development, then this is perfect for you.
And to once again reiterate, this is not a plot heavy book. It’s very very basic with the main plot and subplot. It’s not pressing or jaw dropping but it keeps you compelled enough when the romance is on its slow burn pace.
Am very lucky to be able to get the opportunity to have read this book before most arc reader here and guys!
The world itself is a hades and Persephone retelling with a beauty and the beast sorta twist as well....
the journey we take with this main character is amazing the enemies to lovers trope is strong with this one and god did I swoon.... I need fae king to
Sweep me off my feet please and thank you
Dear Elise Kova this is are the reasons why I’m still and will Forever be single who can compare to eldas
All that being said, this book as very enjoyable. It read like a mash up of some of my favorite YA/NA books so I was totally ready for the good times. It mostly did not disappoint. Some scenes and interactions just felt a little off, but for the most part this story had a great world, a great romance, and a wonderful premise. I enjoyed myself a lot even if it didn’t quite have that can’t-put-it-down factor for me. I love that it’s a stand-alone and that it wasn’t horridly long, but I wish we got more about the family and who they are. It was a lot of surface characterizations and I would’ve liked to have deeper and more meaningful interactions. The mystery was very good and I was very excited to find out what exactly would happen with the magic and the seeming lack of power. That really kept me reading when I maybe would have set the book down. Overall a good read if not a great one.

Flew through this book so quickly. I do love a fantasy romance.
The lore of this world was great and kept it interesting. It wasn't just a romance with the barest hint of plot.
Luella and Eldas were a lovely couple to follow. I liked their interactions and the slow build up of their relationship. I felt it was very well done. Not too instalove and not a lot of the usual romacn clichés which can infuriate me.
Definitely will be looking out for the rest of this series. I love the world.
I have a feeling this may be a book I'll come back to read time and time again.
It is everything that the author promised, a romantic antsy escapism based on a new magical elf/fae world with new magical rules. I fell in love with the brave and determined Larella and the darker elf king Eldas both thrown into their fate beyond their control. It is a tale about falling in love, duty and breaking traditions.
It gives of both Hades and Phesphone and also Beauty and the beast vibes. I can not recommend this book enough if you love SJ Maas or From Blood and Ash.
Thank you so much Elisa Kova for such an amazing book and I can’t wait for your next realise!
I was honestly obsessed with the main love interest, spectacularly written. I found the ending to be quite satisfying, wrapping it all up in a neat bow. I personally found the story to have all the best elements: great characters, interesting plot, a love interest that would give butterflies and a strong heroine.
Amazing novel from start to finish. If I hadn't started it so late in the night I would've finished in one sitting. It's gripping from start to finish, the book is rich with world building and magic.
Can't wait for more novels set in this world!
The story is written from a 1st person perspective which would be perfectly fine had it not been for the complete removal of background elements to immerse the reader into the world. The female character, clearly written as a strong lead, acted at times like a young teenager who thinks they know best which made it a struggle to enjoy her narrative on the situation, as although there are moments when the writer hits the nail on the head with dialogue, descriptions and imagery, other times it felt like I had stumbled across an okay written Wattpad piece of romance.
The ending feels rushed, consisting of a couple of chapters where the plot is neatly tidied up, while the rest of the story is very slow paced. I would recommend getting it because the plot is great, the delivery is just questionable.
