Where to even start...
This book is one of a kind and beautifully written. It's a shocking, edgy, gripping page turner that leaves you wanting more, I could go on and on. I could NOT put this book down!
I really liked this book because it picks up exactly where the first book left off, so it doesn't leave you guessing what happened in the time between. For me, personally, this book was full of "oh snap!" and "didn't see that coming" moments. I love books that just take you by surprise and also make you giggle because you are just shocked and can't believe what you just read happened. I must say adding Lucifer and Lilith to the mix of things made it bold and so much more intense. It kept me guessing and thinking "Well, that's it. There is no possible way this can get more shocking." Only for me to turn the page and have another "Oh snap" moment. Haha.
BUT!... But... A cliff hanger?! Really?! So not fair! I'm gonna go crazy not knowing what happens next!
Can't wait for the next installment.

Okay so now we have gone from a tennis match to a volleyball match where things have definitely become a little more involved. Many more people have become involved. I was kinda of hoping for a little more than what I got. I do however like volleyball better than tennis. It is much more exciting and better competition. Dealing with Devils is the sequel to The Appeal of Evil.
Am I angry? Yes, more than I could have imagined I would be. However when Dealing with Devils one will become angry. They are the bad guys, but Ms. Sinclair has once again made me walk the fine line between love and hate. I want to hope that Katie will not disappoint me and continue on with her original plan. I believe if anyone can do it, she can. Anyone can change, right? I have to believe that will happen. That goes for both sides. Humanity falls between the realms of good and evil. You choose what you want to be. My only hope is that their choices make me love them instead of hate them.
Is there a middle ground between love and hate? I hope within the next book Ms. Sinclair shows me there is. I do not like to be left hanging yet again.
Wow, talk about a triangle. Of course, I believe now it has become a pentagon. Oh how fitting. I just realized that.
Writing and Storyline
Once again Ms. Sinclair has written a superb story. At first it was irritating so it took me a few chapters to get into it, but once I did, I finished it within a day. It is one of those books that you can fool yourself into thinking just one more chapter and then I'll go to bed. NOPE. I thought that at least ten times, until I found myself finishing the story. If you like angels and demons, you are definitely going to like this book.
I will say this, HOORAY!! for the last paragraph in the book. I hope he can help her see what is actually happening. I kind of thought something as I have been reading these books. What if Katie's boyfriend is both? How wild of an ending would that be? Maybe that is why Ms. Sinclair makes us love both the good guy and the bad guy. Just a thought. Happy Reading!
I was given an advanced review copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. No monetary exchange was made.
This book has even more tension than the first book had. Katie is even more attracted to Josh. What he does, taking people's souls weighs heavily on her for a while. She feels safe around Josh, yet feels conflicted. Her best friend Deb is trying hard to save Katie from Josh. Enter bad boy Braden. He and Josh both want Katie. Braden is higher up in the demon hierarchy. The question is, what does he truly want with her. Katie keeps hearing from all of the demons and Lucifer himself that her problem is she keeps holding onto her humanity. Now Katie has a burning desire to find out what they mean by that. The only way to find out is to demand a meeting with Lucifer and ask him herself. What she learns seems to make sense yet also holds her back. She really thought all along that there was Salvation for Josh. I was conflicted with this book. I know why I'm conflicted. My religious beliefs want Katie to see the true evil. I loved however that there is the added conflict between the two demons. I worried all the way through as Katie seems to be lacking normal "human" feelings the deeper and darker she delves into the world and work of the demons. Like the first book this one ended on a cliff hanger. A lot of people hate endings like this. I am ot one of them. It makes me hunger for the next installment. I feel like Katie is not getting the whole story. I feel like she is getting herself and her friends deeper into danger. I keep waiting for someone to come and rescue her from herself. I guess I'll have to wait to see what happens next. I will be waiting for the next book.
