This book is written as a workbook. Many sections have searching questions to consider regarding how you look at things, how you show up in a situation, how you might be willing to change how you show up, and are you perhaps the difficult one? If you are dealing with difficult behaviors in others, how might you handle these more effectively?
I love that the various difficult types of metamours are written as both light and dark. That difficult traits can be strengths if used differently. That there is always room for improvement and positive change, and that none of us are perfect.
I think it's way too easy to fall into the trap of blaming your metamour for conflicts that arise. Oftentimes, you both have the same goal in mind, for yourselves and your relationships, so there is no bad intent. Only conflicts in self interest. I think the self-searching and compassion exercises in this book can help people bridge the gap in perspective that accompanies many of these conflicts.

The author spends most of the book identifying difficult personalities and asking a lot of questions. The author spends very little time offering any solutions or answers or even practical solutions such as actually talking directly to your meta and not always going thru the Vee. The title is clickbait. There really isn’t much in here about how to actually “deal” with difficult metamours. My metamour shared this book with me after she purchased it because we both share a difficult metamour. I have been practicing ENM for many years and have read many books and written a lot myself. I’m sorry to say this book did not live look up to its title. I could write a better book. I’m so disappointed. Oh well, it was only $14.
