Not so much about code breakers as just personal history of the time. Interesting but not what I expected.
Reviewed in the United States on December 5, 2013
In Dear Code Breaker , Kerry Howard sews together long forgotten letters with the historical events that shaped Margaret Rock's journey to become one of the leading code breakers during World War II and the early Cold War period. Howard's literary effort to overcome the fog of secrecy surrounding the Bletchley Park code breaking operation gives credence to the contributions of Margret Rock and other women past and present, who not only had to overcome the restraints of sexism to pursue an education of science and mathematics, but also to use these skills. While Howard's efforts are hindered to a degree by the secrecy restraints under which Marget Rock lived and worked, thereby leaving a lot less paper trail than a military officer or political figure, the endeavor is as worthy as Margret Rock's life.

Interesting book, written by my mother's namesake, enjoyed it very much-very evocative and contemporary with this year's significance. Would recommend.
